Not even inviting AI is horrible. Hes the only one who really seemed to want to be there in the 04 olympics, he actually tries, and he really cares about bringing the USA the gold again. I would have thought it was because he was going to be 33 in 08 but bruce bowen was invited to, and hes gonna be 38 by that time. How can players like luke ridnour be picked ahead of AI? I really feel that team USA in 08 will bring back the gold, but AI deserves to be on that team because he was really there during the bad times, what a shame _________________ "99% of the players in the NBA would immediately have surgery to repair a torn ligament in their small finger, but

Well, Redd and Lewis already said no, so maybe he'll get an invite anyway. |

Did anybody catch that move he put on Antonio Daniels? Made him fall twice. Embarrassing. |

He is older than most of the other players.
He is the most ball-dominant star in the league. Team USA needs to play team ball.
He is really an undersized 2guard and is a defensive liablity when playing in his natural spot.
Play him at the point and you have the greatest players in the world watching AI jack up shots and crashing the offensive glass like Iggy.
We need ball movement and some type of motion offense in the half court.
Colangelo wants this team to gel over years to play teams like Serbia and Argentina that play as a cohesive unit.
Last time AI was the man Team USA did rather poorly.
Time to go with younger guys and in a different direction. |

I think they like to feature younger players. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

Yeah, that was nasty. But AD made Iverson fall too. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

It might also be that they know Iverson doesn't like to practice, so they won't invite him until later if they do. Otherwise, he would probably make a mockery of the committments made by the other players. AI has matured and put a lot of the controversy behind him, so I do expect him to be added later. Inviting him early might be a distraction. It might also send the wrong message. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. AI isn't that old and putting up 47 and 12 last night proves that. I think he definately deserves an invite and let's see if he gets one since Redd and R-Lew declined. |

I've gone back and forth on this. Maybe it's age, maybe it's the fit. But then I find out that of the top 8 scorers in the NBA, AI is the only one to not receive an invite. That sounds personal to me. That sounds like someone on the coaching staff (Coach K maybe) specifically does not want him on the team.
I was surprised that Melo received an invite, considering how salty and disruptive he was the last time. |

Simple, Two reasons:
1) He's a chemistry killer.
2) Coaches hate him. _________________ The great Laker Center Tradition continues.....Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Gasol, AD....Gasol. |

I think it might be because AI is a Reebok product, and Team USA is a Nike Product. Just my opinion. |
