Mike any info on Durand Scott?
ACC Defensive player of the year. Did well in the Portsmouth Invitational. Attacks the basket well. 6'3" SG 6'9" wingspan.
Gets to the paint with ball-handling. Decent first step. 2nd/3rd gear is surprising. Accelerates to the hoop; drops his shoulder and footwork has him get by the defender by the 2nd or 3rd step. Can finish with either hand. Needs to clean up jumpshot. Can be TO prone with tunnel vision to the hoop. Positive A/TO ratio, but doesn't have PG intangibles or IQ. Shot creator. Proficient with floater. New York style guard. Everything is 15' and in. Great hesitation move after a PnR to read the defense and commit to the next move.
Has no idea how to create a comfortable midrange shot in an Iso situation. Needs more confidence in his 3pt. shot. Average vert. Average quicks. Great body control. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

James Ennis kinda reminds me of Richard Dumas.
They're all of the same mold. Just, Dumas had an extra notch of vert and made his jumpshot pretty darn consistent. Never did much outside of hitting midrange Js and finishing in the paint.
Only Wiggins and DJ Stephens have Richard Dumas's vert. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Yeah Stephens does have Dumas's ups, this guy is freakish.

Speaking of Stephens would you take a chance on him in the late 2nd round? He's a freak of nature athletically. Also has a 7 foot wingspan and the 5th fastest 3/4 sprint Draft Express has ever recorded.

I'd let him go undrafted, have him on the SPL team, and get seasoned for the Defenders; acquainted with the culture and the role he needs to take on when he enters the L. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Sorry if this was already asked but Mike what do you think of Nate Wolters. I think he is a diamond in the rough...
He's on a lot of team's lists. I doubt he slips that far. Already trains like a vet and despite the athletic testing, showed his skill level at the combine. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

That kid Canaan looks awfully good. Too bad he will be gone by our pick. Looks like slim pickings at 48--maybe Solomon Hill if we are lucky.
Every time a player rises, another one drops. Canaan, I think, will play like a seasoned vet with a polished J. Nothing flashy, just a strong PG that can pick his spots well.
I'd love to have Solomon Hill as well. IQ, strong, motor, range. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
Do we have anything we can offer so we can move into Mike Muscala's range? Seems like a good prospect. _________________ #2 Lonzo

There's definitely a chance. What I'm noticing is the early to mid 2nd round talent, would usually be considered late 1st round talent in other drafts. Elite athletes like CJ Leslie would be where guys like Travis Outlaw or Gerald Wallace would be. Guys like Archie Goodwin? Athletic project SG with some talent? Another late 1st round type, though he slipped considerably after the workouts.
Ennis could easily slip to the Lakers pick. Even the players I would like to be drafted, could arguably even go ahead of Ennis. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
Idk if this is the right thread, but anyone watch this "job interview" show on ESPN? They bring in top prospects....but to speak to Jalen Rose and Bill Simmons, seriously. I like hearing the prospects, but I can't listen to those two.

I ignore them and go to the DX interviews from the workouts. Especially liked Caldwell-Pope. _________________ Resident Car Nut.
I realize that we need all the help we can get, but the chances that we end up with a Redd/Ginobli like talent in the 2nd round are probably less than 1%, while there is a 80% chance the person will be D-League bound. Of course we should do our best to pick that diamond in the rough, but we were probably end up with Cheik Samb v 2.0 (who is playing in the Iranian leagues right now)
Hope our 1st pick pans out...if we don't get Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Exum, Randle, or even Smart, I'll be disappointed
