GL made a quick appearance to gloat when Shaq made the Finals, but has since played the "I don't take sides" card. _________________ I got a fever....and the only prescription is more cowbell.

I'm here... I'm a Shaq fan - not sure about Shaq Packer - but really, what am I supposed to say? They lost. He was bad. We know.
The one thing I will/can not do is make excuses. He was bad and the team was bad. The Mavericks are a great team. I've got nothing but respect for them. |

unggoy - as a Shaq fan, do you feel you are seeing the beginning of the end for him, or do you think he had a few bad games? It's easy for the rest of us, who have built up an animosity towards the guy, to say he's on his way down. We'll jump at the opportunity to say he's done.
I'm wondering how you see it. It's an honest question. I'm not fishing for anything here. _________________ I got a fever....and the only prescription is more cowbell.

Fair question and yes, I think it's clearly the beginning of the end. (If not already beyond the 'beginning' of the end. Maybe the middle of the end.) I saw an '89 Laker game on TV the other day and saw Kareem running up and down the court and not contributing much. Remember the double-digit point streak, and then when that ended, we'd celebrate when he got 10? I get the same feeling now, although you know, Shaq is still capable of 30/10 every now and then. But clearly, the days of that happening with any regularity are behind him. But that's okay, it happens to everyone. I just don't want to see him like a lot of guys that hang around too long, when you cringe every time they step out onto the field/court/ice/ring. |

^Pretty accurate assessment. He always said he'd quit as soon as he couln't dominate. I don't think he expected it to be this soon. _________________ I got a fever....and the only prescription is more cowbell.

Will people go see his movies? Will he further develop the cartoon character he currently plays sometimes during interviews and off-court episodes? Will he look to build his posse outside Miami now that his Miami posse is coming around to reason?
These are the questions I want to know! _________________ [b:7c818fb74e]Lebron who?[/b:7c818fb74e] |

HERE'S SOME ADVICE, SHAQ: SHOOT LIKE A GIRL
2006-06-13 12:58 (New York)
By MARTIN FRANK
The (Wilmington, Del.) News Journal
Elena DelleDonne sees what everyone else sees when Shaquille O'Neal
shoots a free throw: someone trying to make them but clearly
frustrated at the results.
O'Neal has made just 2-of-16 free throws through the first two
games of the NBA Finals, and his Miami Heat lost both games to the
Dallas Mavericks. Game 3 was scheduled for Tuesday night.
If anything, Shaq could use a lesson from 16-year-old DelleDonne,
who made 80 straight free throws during one stretch during the 2005-06
season, setting the national high school girls' record.
``I feel bad for him because you can tell he's really trying,''
said DelleDonne, who will be a 6-4 junior at Ursuline Academy in
Wilmington, Del. next season. ``But his form is pretty scary. He
switches his form all the time. He should just come up with one form
and stick with it.''
O'Neal is shooting just 37.3 percent for the postseason from the
line, which ranks 157th among 161 players who have attempted a free
throw in the postseason. For the regular season, O'Neal made 46.9
percent of his free throws. For his 14-year career, his percentage is
52.8 percent.
``I wouldn't know what to tell him,'' DelleDonne said. ``It would
be like me trying to shoot a tennis ball because his hands are so big.
He just needs to find one form and stick with it.''
During her streak, DelleDonne told The (Wilmington, Del.) News
Journal that she tries to keep things simple at the line.
``Three dribbles and shoot. I just take three dribbles and I know I
won't mess it up, because that can get in your head,'' DelleDonne
said. ``You have to simplify it. You have to learn how to simplify the
game and not make it too complicated. That's the best way to play, I
think.'' |

Hey, I remember that article and have seen her play she won the state. SHe is 6'4" and set a girls high school scoring record, does everything right on the court... Snaqeer should take lessons from her. |

I have become a fan of all anti-shaq fans..
Before the finals started I wanted him to sprain his ankle in the first game.. but now I don't want him to have the luxury of an excuse.. I want the world to see how intelligent Dr. Buss really is |

Stern and the refs saved the big fat tub of lard's arse tonight. After two dissmal games in Dallas, he comes back with a whopping 16 points? |

^ Yep this team only goes as far as Wade and the rest of the Heat can go at this point.
I also do think the Mavs took it a bit easy which is understandable but they better be ready next time... they know now the refs have it in for them. |
