Quote: | We hear next summer’s Olympic qualifying tournament could be moved from Venezuela to Chile, Puerto Rico or the United States (most likely Vegas). And guess who reportedly wants in? Jason Kidd has reportedly expressed an interest to USA Basketball about getting an invite to the next training camp. Could the U.S. use J-Kidd? Definitely. He may not help in the outside shooting department, but who runs a team better than Jason?- Dime Mag |
Quote: | Colangelo said there could be roster tweaks -- although no staff changes are expected -- with the possibility of adding another point guard. Who? New Jersey Nets point guard Jason Kidd's representation called Colangelo when he returned from Japan saying that Kidd wanted to be considered for next summer.- ESPiN |
Quote: | "I know there are going to be a few who weren't with us that will want to participate," Colangelo said. "We might invite a player or two, but we had guys who paid a price through six weeks of hard work and built up equity, and that's important to honor that too." - ESPiN |
Quote: | He added that Chauncey Billups of the Detroit Pistons told him the same thing after he participated in the Las Vegas training session but didn't go with the team because of family commitments.- ESPiN |
Quote: | Colangelo said he expects Michael Redd of the Milwaukee Bucks, who missed out on this summer because he got married, to participate as well.- ESPiN |

^^ His experience could of been used this past summer.
Didn't Colangelo ship Kidd out of Phoenix over the domestic issues JKidd had? |

yeah...and then kidd took another team to two consecutive finals appearances. nice move smart guy.
i'm glad he's making decisions with his strong moral compass. after all, bronze kinda looks like gold a little bit right? _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

His experience could have helped, but one of the major problems for Team USA still seems to be perimeter shooting and free throws, of course chemistry played a role as well since apparently you can't just throw a team of superstars together and expect gold. That being said, Kidd doesn't bring the perimeter shooting to really help us out IMO... |
