Okay, yal can put your favorite team in place of the Bengals, but how sad is this "Madden curse" thing. I don't believe in that kinda stuff, but Shaun Alexander is out out indefinitely with foot fracture. Sorry if someone posted it, but I didn't see it in the first 2 pages. I'd understand if something happens bad to that player's team, but it always happens to that player. It makes me wonder who Madden listens to to put on the cover. |

It is indeed eerie. I would like to see the run down of cover athletes and what happened to them.
Does anyone have that info? _________________ bonerkillcollective.tumblr.com - peep our art. |

These guys keep agreeing to be on the cover. "Oh its not really a curse ill be fine." Don't mess with the curse. EA probably pays a lot when they offer the cover I'm guessing. |

The cover boys
_1999 ("Madden 2000"): Barry Sanders. The first NFL player to be on the cover quickly became the first former NFL player on the cover. He retired before training camp began.
_2000 ("Madden 2001"): Eddie George. Hardly cursed as he rushed for 1,509 yards and 16 touchdowns, both career highs.
_2001 ("Madden 2002"): Daunte Culpepper. Missed the final five games with a knee injury, but the curse kicked in well before the injury. He went from being tied for the league lead with 33 TD passes in 2000 to having almost as many interceptions (13) as touchdown passes (14) in 2001.
_2002 ("Madden 2003"): Marshall Faulk. He rushed for 1,000 yards in seven of his first eight seasons, but he hasn't surpassed that mark since appearing on the cover of the game. In 2002, he missed two games with an injured ankle.
_2003 ("Madden 2004"): Michael Vick. Suffered a broken right leg during an exhibition game. He missed the first 11 games of the regular season.
_2004 ("Madden 2005"): Ray Lewis. The Ravens' linebacker didn't have an interception for the only time in his career. He missed the regular-season finale because of an injured wrist.
_2005 ("Madden 2006"): Donovan McNabb. After the Eagles slipped to a 4-5 record, McNabb missed the final seven games because of a sports hernia.
_2006 ("Madden 2007"): Shaun Alexander. He gained 187 yards in the first three games, his slowest start since 2002, and now is out indefinitely with a broken bone in his left foot.

While he did post a carrer year, i believe he also injured his toe this season and ended up getting surgery in the offseason, and was never the same. Yes u may say only his toe, but i also think that affected his career alot. |

Or they can go back to just putting a picture of Madden on the cover like they did for the first 6 years or so.
This is one of those things that irritates me about some sports fans. There are people who genuinely believe that there's a curse and will be pissed if their favorite player is on the cover next year. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

They should put the entire Miami Heat team on the cover of Madden '08. I don't care what sport it is as long as the curse is in effect. |

Is there an NBA Life curse? Look at what happened to Amare last year. Well then again, that was the 1st installment in the series. Maybe Kobe's cures was that he had to get surgery in the offseason, and that will be it. _________________ Double rings > Double rainbow |

The cover you're talking about is NBA 06 not NBA Live. Live had Wade on the cover last year and Shaq was on the cover of 2K6. No curses there. And they're both on those same respective covers for the 2007 versions of those games. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

No I was talking about NBA Life. As in NBA 06: The Life Vol 1. And Wade isn't on the cover for Live 07, but Shaq is still on the cover for 2K7(What's up with 2K being too lazy to keep chaning cover athletes? Only 3 in 6 or 7 years now) _________________ Double rings > Double rainbow |

Oh that's right, they got McGrady for Live this year.
The 2K series was Allen Iverson for the first 5 years. Sega might have had an exclusive contract with him or something. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |
