Rumor is Lakers want Bender at #2. I think this is a huge mistake as everyone sees this as a 2 man draft between Ingram and Simmons. If Lakers are determined to pick Bender, they should trade down in the draft.
Lakers
IN: #3 pick, Nik Stauskas, Change Sixers draft pick protection from 1-3 to 1-24 for 2017.
OUT: #2 pick
Lakers get Bender at 3, last year's #8 pick (Stauskas), and change draft protection which would give Sixers the 2018 first round pick and Magic second round picks instead of a first.
Celtics
IN: Jahlil Okafor
OUT: #3 pick
Celtics get a known commodity in Okafor to be their starting C.
Sixers
IN: #2 pick
OUT: Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas, Change Lakers pick protection
Sixers get Ingram and Simmons to accelerate their rebuild and give up Okafor who has a redundant role with other players.

Doubt they do, especially because they haven't even worked out either of them.
However, I also doubt Lakers can change the pick protections with the 76ers. Orlando could quickly file a grievance. As they could claim they in part traded for the Laker pick due to the statistical implausibility that it would become 2 2nds. _________________ How can I get a copy of a Laker game played on Sunday, March 11, 2001 Sonics/Lakers? I would be willing to pay you for it. |

Sorry but Nik Stauskas doesn't cut it. I would just trade with the Cs. #2 for #3, 16 and 23. Much more value than Nik Stauskas. |

I haven't heard a rumor that the Lakers want Bender. But I have heard factual evidence that the Lakers haven't worked out any players of the #2 pick. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

It's a 2 horse race. They interviewed Ingram at the combine and were impressed. And Simmons isn't working out for anyone. But you're right haven't heard any plans to workout anyone. |
