Pipe dream but attainable? Even at the expense of some of our Young Core & Draft picks?
2017-18 via Trade & FA signings? |

No
Cap space becomes an issue rather quickly. |

That's almost as much of a pipe dream as Jim/Mitch getting Lebron and Melo a few years ago.
People need to let these silly pie in the sky trades/FA signings go and accept that it's going to take time to rebuild this franchise.
This is the first legit year of a rebuild. Let the Young guys develop to see what we have, go after big name free agents to hopefully lure one away to lead the young core. A trade for a all star is fine as long as you're not mortgaging your future for a futile chase for the title. If we're lucky enough to keep the draft pick (and it will be luck) draft well and make the appropriate moves based on who is available at the time and how good the newly drafted player looks.
Patience and smart moves moving forward is what's going to turn this team around |

The immortal MozDeng contracts ensure that won't happen. |

I am no fan of Cousins demeanor. However, there is no denying he is passionate. The drive of those two would be very interesting to watch. Not on the same level of a Kobe / KG combo we had all hoped for years ago, but a couple notches below that. _________________ Don't make me give you a trout slap! |

Must be slow news day. At least we've got something to talk about. We know PG13 wanted to come to LA but WB and Cousins? WB has shown that he's fiercely loyal to OKC. He's like a top 3 player in the league right now so we'd have to trade our entire roster if we want OKC to consider the trade. Cousins is garbage. He's winless with Pelicans so far. I don't want to risk taking on the extra baggage that comes with his "talent". _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024 |

Westbrook-PG13-MWP-T.Rob-Cousin + 8 min salaries
Assuming we successfully traded Mozdeng And prob all of the young guys
One hell of a splash, I'd give FO that |

Those three guys as free agents are eligible for 90% of all cap space. So to get them on the same team you would pretty much need to clear out every player currently on the roster and then surround them with 9 guys on minimum contracts.
So, yeah, it's theoretically possible but it would be hard and probably at the expense of the entire young Corps and all our draft picks |

Do people still want Westbrook going on 30 years old? I would be nervous as hell signing him to a long-term deal at that point. _________________ Austin Reaves

A player that good, I think you have to bite the bullet on a 4-year deal in free agency in the summer of 2018, if he were still great next season. We aren't merely talking about a Paul George-level guy with RW here. Dude is a straight-up assassin.
I think it's actually very do-able, logistically anyway, to get PG13 in summer 2017 via trade and then RW in summer 2018 via free agency. We may get neither, but it's logistically very possible. But all 3 of PG/RW/Cousins? It's almost impossible, although if you could somehow move one of MozDeng without taking salary back past 2018 and if you stretched the other after next season, it's probably technically possible.

They could conceivably get 2 of the 3, but not all of them. |

This. & Westbrook would be elgiblike for the 35% max, so only DMC/PG13 would be obtainable. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' no, they can probably get PG13 for the right price. I don't see Westbrook and Cousins coming here. |

both Russel and Paul George will be offered mega contracts from their home teams. It will be nearly impossible to sign them outright in free agency. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

PG13 would have to be acquired in a trade this summer if they really want him
Westbrook imo is nearly impossible to get. |

And Lebron, don't forget Lebron!!!
I think we can even add some south pacific islands into this deal!!!
So, we will trade Ennis, Brewer, Mozgov and Deng for Lebron, PG13, Westbrook, Cousins and two south pacific islands!!!!
Heck, lets get a Presidency out of this tooo!!!
Plus Magic will be named POTUS!!!! _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain |

I think Lebron, Wade, Melo, and CP3 will team up to form the Banana boat squad here. |
