Im really bored here during break and Im curious if anybody else out there likes this show. My Dad always watched the show when I was a Kid and I guess it just stuck with me. Its really an amazing show, a great mixture of comedy and drama. _________________ If there is less than a minute to play give the ball to Kobe and let him decide. |

As an adult, I haven't given it a chance. Didn't like it as a kid, though. Then again, it wasn't meant for kids, was it? _________________ I got a fever....and the only prescription is more cowbell.

Comedy is a way of dealing with tragic circumstances. It's a kind of defense mechanism. People act crazy to keep from going crazy. Laughter is a release. The circumstance of war has the loss of life and limb. If anyone needs laughter as medicine, it's those who face terrible loss. Life on the edge must be approached with humor. During the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln once said, “With the fearful strain that is on me night and day, if I did not laugh I should die.” _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Easily one of the greatest shows ever on TV. The writing was brilliant (Larry Gelbart for the most part) and the cast was always well-paced and well-rehearsed. Great show. Dealt with issues that a lot of shows wouldn't even touch back then, especially the whole Vietnam War thing as the show masqueraded as the Korean War. _________________

A show ahead of it's time. The comedy on that show is lost on kids, most of whom know about the show only because it came on right after the news, which your parents were probably watching. Alan Alda was awesome and I loved the character.
Interesting too that they used a laugh track on the show, except when they were in surgery. I learned a lot from MASH too - for example, I had never heard of the Toledo Mudhens prior to Klinger.
Everyone on that show was good, from the main characters on down to Rosie and 5 o'clock Charlie.
Those freeway signs that say 'speed checked by Radar' always make me laugh. Radar has never pulled me over, but it'd be cool if he did. |

The only thing I remember about Mash is pretty dumb. I just remember as a Kid when I heard the Mash theme when the show starts I have stayed up way to late. Mash use to start at 12 am every night. I use to sometimes watch like the Simpsons at 11:00. So when im laying in my bed and I hear that theme music I knew I messed up since it was 12 and I had to get up around 6. |

If they were to hand out an award for the greatest TV show of all time... and M*A*S*H won... I wouldn't argue with the decision. |

It was good in the early years, but went way overboard in the later years in large part due to Mike Farrell's political beliefs.
Nothing worse than a comedy getting serious, also Hot Lips didn't age well! _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

I would compare that show to something like lemon juice, or wasabi... A little bit will do you... I got my fill, and I moved on... _________________ "Teamwork is a nebulous thing. It is as ephemeral as love, disappearing at the latest insult.".... Phil Jackson |
