yeah, and how many seasons all timers like phil and pop coached without a superstar and a buddy all star player on their team? must be like 3 seasons combined in 30+ years of nba coaching. Players play and win stuff in the nba, coaches dont matter all that much without adequate talent.
And luke doesnt even have an all star to pair with lebron.
I mean, i understand the criticism and all but its soooo easy to scapegoat coaches, they're kinda isolated and in a weaker position than either gm and important players, and are usually judged by "what have you done for me lately?". Even Brad Stevens got questioned after great runs in boston with subpar rosters, when you win you're good, when you lose you suck, thats how coaches get judged in the nba in general and its unreasonable |
There is an art to coaching an all-time great. Lebron has run coaches out of town, same for Kobe and MJ. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

I hope it’s Hart. KCP can create his own shot with the second unit. |
Yea, I have no idea who I want him to start.
I wonder. Hmm. |

was being out coached yet again. Pop almost got the best of him for the 3rd straight game if it wasnt for lebron.
He best pray bron doesnt go down with an injury anytime soon. _________________ "Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones." - KB |

Another game that showed the Lakers team (thanks to Lebron) won in spite of coach Luke.
Also, as the poster above said, yes, players win games, BUT coaches and coaching staffs serve important functions. If it was that easy (only players count), the Green Bay Packers would have won more games this season. Heck, even the Fisher Rams had talent, but did not win very many games...….right?
So lets not say that coaches and coaching staffs are not important. |

Or to make a basketball comparison, the Bucks after Kidd was let go. |

Warriors under Kerr vs Mark Jackson
Lakers under Phil vs Del Harris
I don't know if Luke is a championship coach. He's been at the helm 3 years he still doesn't have an offense I get the feeling hes a place holder coach until this team can contend. |

The hope is Rick Carlise next year. _________________ Lakers Offseason Goal:

Exactly correct!
There's plenty of basketball examples too of highly talented teams being held back by there inept HC:
Del Harris Lakers
Jason Kidd Bucks
Mark Jackson Warriors
Doug Collins Bulls
Stan Van Gundy's Heat |

not to laugh at the experts here but...
Mike Trudell

Gregg Popovich asked about Luke Walton: “(The Lakers) execute way better now than they did at the beginning of the year … it shows great leadership on his end … they should be really happy with (what’s going on there).”

Just to play devils advocate, that coincides Lebron ball.
Not saying Luke hasn’t made adjustments, but we need to see a little more; especially in the half court offense. Right now it seems like it’s just Lebron ball, imo. |

You're one of those Luke apologists I see seeing how you're just putting words in my mouth.
It's called choosing a better lineup to start the 4th, I didn't say play the same lineup. |

Loss isn’t 100% on Luke but sure didn’t help our cause |

Which would you have gone with?
My gripe is going with a center that's not McGee or Chandler.

Dat timeout in the 2nd quarter with less than 4 min left was brutal. Iced the team and got them the momentum going into the 2nd half.
Starts and leaves Lebron in the entire 4th.
Leaves in Chandler to guard the bench instead of McGee (Chandler is clearly good against LMA but not faster shooting bigs)
And dat freaking small ball in the 4th.
Not totally his fault this time but he sure as hell didn’t help as usual. _________________ Lakers Offseason Goal:

My issue was Bease, Svi and KCP together to start the 4th.
3 guys that can't dribble with bad shooting. I would have rather seen Lance. |
