Post your IDEAL rotation with minutes assigned. I define a position by what position you defend(example, LeBron can handle point duties on offense but he guards forwards)
PG - Caruso (24) / Rondo (16) / Cook (8)
SG - Green (14) / KCP (24) / Daniels (10)
SF - LeBron (20) / Kuzma (16) / Green (12)
PF - Davis (18) / Kuzma (18) / LeBron (12)
C - Mcgee (12) / Cousins (20) / Davis (16)
Closing unit is LeBron, AD, Kuz, Green and one of KCP, Caruso, Cousins, Mcgee depending on matchup and performance |

I think we need to see who else comes on board. I'm still thinking that we add on one or more of Korver, Iggy, and Bradley. |

Rondo is trash. Huge negative plus minus. Shouldn't see the court.
KCP 18 Caruso 18 Cook 12
Green 24 KCP 10 Daniels 8 Cook 6 (perhaps we sign someone else to replace Daniels' minutes)
James 26 Dudley 10 Kuzma 8 Green 4
Davis 22 Kuzma 20 James 6
McGee 18 Cousins 18 AD 12 |

You have to consider matchup versatility vs most talent out there. Going into FA I would have said AD split down the middle at 4 and 5 works, but McGee and Cousins could give say 32-38 quality minutes there. Also consider these are averages and some guys will get days off for load management.
KCP 12/Rondo 16/Cook 12/Caruso 8
Green 28/KCP 12/Caruso 8
James 32/Kuzma 6/Incoming vet 10
Davis 22/Kuzma 26
McGee 18/Cousins 20/ Davis 10
Note: an incoming Korver, Iggy or solid vet shake up the rotation and move some of the Kuzma SF minutes that domino to Davis more at 5, a guy like Daniels may depend on days off. |

Rondo 28/Cook 20/Caruso (garbage minutes/load management minutes)
Green 28 / KCP 20/ Daniels (same)
Bron 35 / Kuzma 13/Dudley (same)
AD 35/ Kuzma 13
Cousins 28/ javale 20
I think we run the same 9-10 guys for most of the season with players like Caruso, Daniels and Dudley getting minutes when the stars/older players rest.
Back to backs, injuries stuff like that. Rondo isn’t playing 82 games but the games he does play he will log starter minutes. Cousins didn’t agree to come be javales backup and anybody who thinks that is crazy. He’s playing for money and he would have started in Miami if he went. No minutes for Davis at the 5 and I think he wants it that way. Kuzma will get his at the 3-4 _________________ “like I never left”

That is an 11 man rotation, surely that won't be the case in the playoffs should we finally qualify.
48 minutes times 5 players is 240 minutes total:
10 Man Rotation Prediction:
LeBron 36
Davis 38
Cousins 20
McGee 16
Green 26
Kuzma 28
Rondo 24
Caruso 16
Cook 16
KCP 10
Out of rotation (at least initially): Dudley, Daniels, any Rookie
Even 10 guys seems like a lot, let's call this a regular season rotation.

Cousins 28/McGee 14/Davis 6
Davis 26/Kuzma 22
Lebron 32/Dudley 16
Green 28/Cook 20
Caruso 24/Rondo 24
KCP - Injury reserve starter if Green gets hurt.
Daniels - Injury reserve for Cook.
McGee - Will get more PT if AD or Cousins get hurt. If either do, he gets more minutes.
AD's 6 minutes at C for a death lineup with some speed and shooting. Likely Davis, Kuzma, James, Cook and Caruso. Lots of speed there. Nice way to close out many games, IMO. |

Thumbs up.
I probably would switch McGee for Cousins as he's a better pick and roll target, but that's quibbling. To end games or halves I hope we use no center at all to get Kuzma on the floor.. |

Rondo is terrible. If he’s our starter, we are in big trouble. We need Caruso, Daniels, Cook, someone to outplay him and earn those starters’ minutes. Rondo signed for the minimum, I’m hoping that means Vogel will be treating him like a minimum player. Rondo should be playing no more than 15 minutes a game and should almost never be on the floor as the same time as Lebron. |

I am probably in the minority here but I would start Lebron at PG. He is running the offense anyway. Just make it official. I am thinking Lebron as the 1987/1988 version of Magic Johnson at PG. Much more on the attack.
I'd commit to all of his minutes coming at the PG spot. This means the SF spot will need to manned by Kuzma, Dudley and Green.
I really do not like our PG situation. Cook was okay offensively but both Cook and Rondo are terrible defenders.
PG - Lebron / Caruso / Rondo
SG - Green / KCP / Daniels
SF - Kuzma / Dudley
PF - Davis / Kuzma
C - Mcgee / Cousins
Or you might move Green to starting SF and move KCP to starting SG. Keep Kuzma as your 6th man on the second unit.
PG - Lebron / Caruso / Rondo
SG - KCP / Cook / Daniels
SF - Green / Kuzma / Dudley
PF - Davis / Kuzma

Rondo's defense is just terrible, man.
And we have enough creation with Cousins added in the starting 5.
PG - Caruso (24) / Rondo (14) / Cook (10)
SG - Green (20) / KCP (18) / Daniels (10)
SF - LeBron (20) / Kuzma (18) / Green (10)
PF - Davis (22) / Kuzma (12) / LeBron (12)
C - Cousins (24) / McGee (13) / Davis (11)
Let Rondo lead most of the 2nd unit time.. paired with AD or Cousins.
Davis gets about a quarter at Center.. finishes the game there - although Cousins will be angry about not finishing
KCP has to prove he deserves 20mpg+
3 plus defenders in the starting 5, yes!

Starting Bron at PG without at least Cousins in there who can pass and setup AD as well ---- too much on Bron's shoulder's at his age. I don't want him driving and making things happen like that 100 times a game in the regular season. let him chill a bit. avg 25ppg and 7assists, then turn it up in the playoffs. you need more than 1 perimeter creator in this league right now, and AD likes being setup |

Thankfully at least a few of us realize how bad Rondo is.
Unfortunately, I think his relationship with AD and Cousins and his politicking will force the Lakers to give him some playing time even though everyone in the Lakers organization knows he's a big net minus on the court.
Between Caruso, Cook, KCP, Daniels and Rondo, there will probably be alternating DNPs, so the rotations will be shorter, but just with different players game to game.
I could see a healthy Rondo playing 60 games and about 20mpg.
I could see the other 4 missing at least 10 games to shorten the rotation.
Daniels, may be out of the rotation unless there is an injury. So he may miss 40 games. |

Like this lineup and rotation, except I‘m thinking we should add one more big man (JaMychal Green) to the mix, keeping LeBrons minutes down.
This Caruso-Green-Bron-Davis-McGee Starting Lineup is gonna be monstreous defensively. Man it’s gonna be a Battle with the Dips this year 🤯 |

Quinn
Green
LBJ
Kuz
AD
Bench:
Rondo Alex
KCP TD
JD
Cousins
Mcgee
This starting unit would have the best spacing and would maximize LBJ the most.
Pretty much it comes down to if Cousins returns to all-star form or if Kuz takes the next step, I'm betting on the latter. |

Tell me this guys, whats our closing lineup? Our best 5 players as of now are James, Green, Kuzma, AD and Boogie. I dont know what to tell you, i think thats not a good fit to close out games
Anyway, from current bunch:
Cook/Rondo
Green/KCP/Daniels
James/Kuzma
AD/Kuzma
Boogie/AD/McGee
We still need a starting caliber PG and a SF. Iggy for depth would be good addition _________________ 48 49 50 52 53 54 72 80 82

As of today, I think our closing lineup would be:
PG: Rondo (yuck, but he is the most experienced PG right now)
SG: Green (or KCP for small-ball)
SF: James (or Green for small-ball)
PF: Davis (or James for small-ball)
C: I want to say Cousins, but he's historically poor on P&R defense and would likely be exploited, so I'd go with either McGee, or a small-ball lineup with Davis at the C.
This also depends on how Kuzma has progressed as a defender. If he shows signs of improvement, I'd plug him into a closing lineup as well. |
