No offense, but this website is garbage clickbait. Kuzma, DG, THT and maybe more for Derrick Rose? HARD PASS.
I'm hoping AB opts in for the second year and then we'll have Bradley, Caruso and probably Rondo able to handle PG duties. |
McGee / Quinn Cook / and our 28th pick for Derrick Rose, works on the trade checker |
I suspect they would want for more for Rose than the 28th pick and cap filler. |
He’s more of a buy out option. We have no use of him in the playoff. |

which contender would give up a better pick than 28th for D.Rose? rebuilding team don't need him, Detroit should grab picks |
I don't spend time working out the details of imaginary trades, but lots of contending teams would want him. |

If we do need him, buyout would be much better than trading for his expiring indeed. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!! |

But to be fair, expiring contracts and a first rounder are probably fair return for D Rose. It's just a question of if 28 is too low but if so it's only by a handful of picks. Can't imagine him getting higher than 20 + expiring deals. |

would be a huge mistake trading 1st (28th pick) for D Rose. |

Why trade for Rose when Rondo (I can't believe it myself) has been perfectly adequate as a backup PG? _________________ Resident Car Nut.

The answer is obvious, Rondo isn’t gonna perform like he has in the regular season, we are gonna need another steady PG, my targets are T.J. McConnell and Derrick Rose + Jeff Teague. |

Cuz regular season Rondo can't/doesn't exert the effort that playoff Rondo can/does. And he's prone to injury. Having a guy for the regular season would help imo. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!! |

Fred VanVleet would be a great get to help us next season when Rondo turns into Island Rondo, but I think FVV is gonna be Knicks bound. |

call me cold blooded, even if we win the title this year, i'd trade LeBron for Curry without even hesitating, even after everything LBJ has done for this franchise. Steph and AD is something to build around for the next 5 years. |

Lebron benefitted from an atypically long off-season and a 4-month break. We need to find ways to keep him fresh after a more typical offseason duration and regular season. Rondo is also fairly injury prone. Rose provides scoring, ball-handling, and play-making. Teague and DJ I agree would be solid options but neither of them provide the gravitas of Rose or the ability to end scoring droughts. I think we're better off using the our FA assets to go after a wing and resign Dwight ± Morris.
I would trade McGee, Cook, and #28 for him. I'd give some pause though if we'd need to include a rotational player though in the end you'd need to clear up the glut at guard anyway. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit)

I mean. Alex and Avery and Cook are not good ball handlers imo.
And would you want the guy u label as "Gramps" to handle all season?
Btw, I'm not saying I want Rose. But a ball handling guard as insurance seems like a good idea. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!! |

Nah, it just doesn't make sense to me.
Despite Rondo's play, LAL was #1 in the West.
Dude is a positive player, but can't defend. So why are we trading for a regular season player when it's a playoff dude the Lakers need? How can he even be a playoff player if he can't defend? _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Let NYK overpay him. I'll be happy when he can't be considered for LAL anymore. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Here's the difference between Teague and DJ (though I disagree about either guy not being enough).
Don't have to trade for them. They're just FA pick ups.
McGee, Cook, #28 for Rose and Detroit hangs up. They have a new GM, and he has something to prove. Can't just make a move like that and keep a job.
Troy Weaver spent 12 seasons with OKC. He wants salary dumps AND young prospects. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Caruso earned it. Bradley did too. LAL still needs a ball handler, and that's definitely a priority, but that has to be the right trade or right signing.
Derrick Rose trade ideas were based on the idea that LAL absolutely stunk with Rondo on the floor. They absolutely did.
But, they don't in the playoffs. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Trying to get a handle on what you are trying to gain. A starter or a role player?
I absolutely want to see a ball handler added. If a starter then I get the trade for a player that can give 25+ mpg. A defender, PG playmaker and an occassional 3pt threat all wrapped into one is going to take a trade. Not sure if that is Rose.
If a role player to fill in when James is out for 15mpg then I prefer they either bring in a free agent at a reasonable price or keep the #28 and draft a PG. Get some youth into the lineup for the regular season.
As it stands now the Lakers will have Rondo, Bradley, Quinn and Caruso capable at the PG position for the long 82 game season. Add a rookie with potential that can be mentored by Rondo.
Better long term investment then Rose for a year or two. IMO |

I’d like to get guys that make the regular season easier on Lebron and AD. If Rondo is checked out during regular season, we need another initiator. |
