I know I'm in the minority, but I'm ecstatic about the Suns putting a wrench in these rumors. I don't like the idea simply because of CP3's injury history coinciding with his age. Although I was pleasantly surprised by his play this past season, we don't need that drastic of a shake up coming off a championship.
Keep everyone and let's see what we can get for Green, Kuz, and McGee. I'm also excited to see AB return to to the squad. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant |

Actually I was comparing Paul going to Sarver and the Suns with Lebron coming to Jeanie and the Lakers. Both would be taking chances on teams going nowhere. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

It's also a risk to stay put, in both scenarios.
LeBron would have been taking a bigger chance in Cleveland, they had no GM or assets outside of a #8 pick.
LeBron in Philly would displace a fellow Klutch client (their best young asset).
The Lakers were the best option, after the panic-trade of Kyrie in August 2017.
Both situations have one thing in common, few realistic options. Also, the president of the NBPA shouldn't make too many demands regarding the trade of his max contract. |

Count me in too . Don’t feel the need for drastic change either. We were head and shoulders better than any team last year.
I would rather have AD expand his game and initiate more so he can add a whole dimension to his offensive repertoire and be more prepared for the playoff. Vogel should cough up some losses here and there to make that happen. |

I liked our odds more when the only other competitors were an equally asset-bereft MIL (who also reportedly wanted Oladipo more) and the Knicks (who were saying they wouldn't trade picks + why would CP3 want to go there?)
Phoenix is a major monkey wrench. Now i'm just hoping we can get Rubio somehow. |

I can’t see CP3 with his Napoleon complex riding coattails for chips. I think the Clips is much better fit for him. He can be that leader and most like want to be the reason if they win. |

VLF does have a point here though. Jeanie Buss WAS viewed as a disaster for quite some time and was viewed as just as incompetent an owner as Sarver. Maybe Sarver turned a new leaf as well. The Suns seem to headed in a good direction for once and it did not require Lebron coming to the Lakers to do it. |
By whom?
All indications are that her peers (the other owners) hold her in highest regard, which is why they unanimously backed her when her older brothers tried to pull a coup.
In fact, since ousting Jim & Johnny as Trustees in 2017:
- in 2017-18, posted $371 million in revenue and $136 million in profit (just under Knicks) despite a 35 win team
- in 2018-19, posted $434 million in revenue and $147 million in profit (just under Knicks), signed LeBron James
- in 2019-20, won NBA Championship.
So she's at/near the top in making money AND at the top in winning. Even in crappy years, Lakers revenue and operating income rose at an astronomical rate. Criticize her all you want, but her watch has been successful. |
You forgot to add :
moving on from Jimbo’s big FA signings: the Moz-Deng disaster contracts
adding Lebron
adding AD
winning #17.
This franchise was a disaster- when Jimbo was running b-ball ops.
Jeanie isn’t perfect by any means, but the best thing to happen to this franchise since the death of Dr. Buss was Jeanie taking full control and getting rid of that idiot Jim.
The results speak for themselves.
Although maybe they aren’t as apparent to fans of the Clips and Pels. |

Good point. I’m not a fan but I could see OKC interested in a re-signed Harrell. Exciting player with intensity who could become a fan favorite. And he and SGA played well together. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Clippers have nothing to trade OKC aside from PG. Would OKC want Bev, Lou, Zubac, Shamet? Even with Jerry West there, the Clips are strapped. _________________

That could be better than nothing, all pieces COULD fit into their system or they could flip as well.
The thing is, how would the Clips fill out their roster?
EDIT: would take more than that. Would need to include McGruder or a S&T of morris or Harell.
Better question would be...can the clippers do a S&T of one or both of morris/harell + matching for CP3. I think it is possible _________________ "Friends can come and go, but banners hang forever" -KOBE |

Why would OKC help the Clippers make the draft picks they traded TO OKC worse? |

If the clippers don't win next season, Kawhi and PG13 could leave as soon as next off season which would give the picks that OKC got more value. _________________ Plan A - Schroder/Hield/Lebron/AD/Gasol
