McConnell plays fetch with the press and they chase the little red ball with a tinkly bell inside of it every time.

Maybe lost a little in all the DC tumult but this is good news. _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman

Cliff Levy @cliffordlevy
A Proud Boys supporter was arrested after a search of his home found 1,000 rounds of rifle ammunition, two dozen shotgun rounds, 75 military-style combat knives, two hatchets and two swords.
He had posted threats against Raphael Warnock.
Yet Rev Warnock did not back down, unlike some Rep congress people who reportedly said they wanted to vote today for impeachment but were afraid of the MAGA mob that they helped create. As a candidate in GA, Warnock had less protection than these congress people. You want the job of public representative you don't get to run when it gets tough. Not when you can vote to send our military and others into harms way. Too scared to vote for what is right, then resign. _________________ “There is always light if only we're brave enough to see it, if only we're brave enough to be it.” --Amanda Gorman

Republicans who say we can't impeach a president 10 days before an inauguration had no trouble confirming a Supreme Court justice 8 days before an election.

Welcome to the final week of Trump's presidency.
Unfortunately, the aftermath is looking like it will be just as bad for a long time. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Sure, sorry about that. It's a video showing the terrorist actively rehearsing invading the capitol and talking about where windows are located and how to get to certain rooms.

Pelosi has lost a step... she's in amazing shape for her age, but she's starting to struggle a little. Schumer has always been mousy and weak.
I hope you are right... but I'm afraid Mitch is just playing everyone like a fiddle until this all dies down.
Exactly what is happening. Pelosi thought she’d served the ball into Mitch’s court with an Ace. Meanwhile McConnell’ knows it’s not that simple. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

The mainstream media is Charlie Brown. I don't know how Schumer and Pelosi got wrapped up into my comment, which was quite clear. _________________ Under New Management
When Donald Trump on Wednesday became the first president ever impeached twice, he did so as a leader increasingly isolated, sullen and vengeful.
With less than seven days remaining in his presidency, Trump’s inner circle is shrinking, offices in his White House are emptying, and the president is lashing out at some of those who remain. He is angry that his allies have not mounted a more forceful defense of his incitement of the mob that stormed the Capitol last week, advisers and associates said.
Though Trump has been exceptionally furious with Vice President Pence, his relationship with lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani, one of his most steadfast defenders, is also fracturing, according to people with knowledge of the dynamics between the men.
Trump has instructed aides not to pay Giuliani’s legal fees, two officials said, and has demanded that he personally approve any reimbursements for the expenses Giuliani incurred while traveling on the president’s behalf to challenge election results in key states. They said Trump has privately expressed concern with some of Giuliani’s moves and did not appreciate a demand from Giuliani for $20,000 a day in fees for his work attempting to overturn the election.
Quote:
Although he has shown flashes of anger over his impeachment — and is livid with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) for leaving open the possibility that he might vote to convict — Trump privately has told advisers that he does not believe he will be removed from office before his term expires Jan. 20, according to people familiar with the conversations.
Quote:
Trump has been more concerned with other actions that could have serious consequences for his post-presidential life, according to people familiar with the president’s concerns. The developments include Twitter and other social media companies suspending his accounts, the PGA of America canceling a golf tournament at one of his properties, and Deutsche Bank announcing it would no longer finance his developments.

Other than his trip to Texas, Trump’s public schedule has been empty, and he is said to be doing little these days besides watching television and fulminating with this coterie of loyalists about Republicans not defending him enough.

“He is feeling increasingly alone and isolated and frustrated,” this official said.
The rehab tour begins after that BS statement, just as expected. Fox News will commence touting this and call him a uniter now, poor president always getting picked on and impeached. Corporations will be free to donate to their favorite right wing politicians again, including Trump.
It’s going to be difficult to see any real justice while they have a strong propaganda machine still going strong and virtually untouched. I have barely seen anyone call out these right wing propaganda channels for their role in this whole thing.

If we were doing WWII today... Hitler would be blamed... there would be no Nuremberg and Goebbles, Goering, Himmler, Speer would be doing interviews on Fox News.
Law enforcement officers from around the country attended and supported last week’s rally in support of President Trump that sparked a riot.
Quote:
As of today, at least 26 sworn members of U.S. law enforcement agencies from at least 11 states have been identified by law enforcement agencies and local reporting as attendees of the Jan. 6 rally in support of President Trump that sparked a riot at the U.S. Capitol. [Update, 5:20 p.m., Eastern time: Two more law enforcement officers have been reported as having attended the Jan. 6 rally, bringing the total to 28 officers from 12 states.] Beyond that tally, several former law enforcement agents attended the rally, and still more current law enforcement officials are under investigation for making statements in support of the rally.
Biographers tell us that, early on, a cutthroat New York real estate developer imparted a dark lesson to the son who would become president of the United States.
There are two kinds of people in the world, Fred Trump explained to his apprentice child. There are killers, and there are losers.
But however and whenever the US Senate acts on Trump's historic second impeachment, this much we know: He will leave office within a week, not as an honored former president but as the disgraced and selfish provocateur of a seditious uprising. The violent insurrection against the US Capitol and our democracy will be his epitaph.
The threat of legal action and disbarment from public office in the future still looms. But the President already has suffered the most painful penalty of all: Fred Trump's boy will go home a loser.

It’s amazing the amount of slander the woman takes despite the fact that she’s savvier than anyone on the hill. She knows what Mitch is and will do. The value here is putting his caucus to the test. A bunch of senators up for re-election are going to have to make a choice that is going to divide their support either way they go. There’s also the way this is going to divide the gop in the short term and the need to dump trump. Mitch is not the only one who plays the long game. _________________ “We must always take sides.
