Part of me thinks this team will struggle all season to incorporate their big 3, like barely above .500 the rest of the way struggle. I don't think they'll cover against the Cavs again tomorrow and might even lose after logging all those minutes. The lack of training camp and practice time is going to bite them like it did the Clippers and maybe even worse since they're attempting to mesh 3 redundant pieces. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

Okay. So far, we have effectively digressed in the close to goal defense that we often benefited from when we had more physically capable players in Mr. McGee and Mr. Howard performing at the center position.
Is that better? |

Looking at the Nets coaching staff, I'm not sure this experiment is going to work. Steve Nash might be smart enough and know enough basketball, but as Canadian he might just be too nice to handle all the players and assistant coaches egos and actually take the decisions necessary. |

Guys who barely played in the playoffs? Also a guy who was replaced by AC in the starting lineup in the most important game of the season and a guy who didn't even play a single minute in the finals. Yeah right.

Want to argue over 0.1 more rim attempts compared to last year?

Nice find, but let's see how those stats are after this road trip and the Celtics, Sixers games. For me, I consider tonight's victory really the first true quality win of the year as our opponent was a playoff caliber opponent 1) not missing a "star" for their team and/or 2) their star (Harden, cough) was not potentially playing entirely disinterested cuz he wanted to be elsewhere.
Very happy for the W and looking forward to seeing how our fellas perform the rest of the roadie. |

If Lakers take it seriously they will win. No need to doubt them if they can win vs playoffs team because they are always dead serious in the playoffs. No need to give it all in the reg season.
Reg season is where Vogel experiment all the rotations, offensive and defensive schemes. |

Norvel is a guy you can sag off on defense because he has maybe one or two ways of scoring, all at the bucket and ideally all dunking, and has a limited impact on defense because he doesn't usually play many minutes.
He's a very limited player that opponents can work around. Probably the best the Nets can do in the buyout market though.
The Nets won't really be able to address their weaknesses in any meaningful way until next year. The Lakers will want to take advantage of that because we're better than them, and next year the Warriors will be back.
And I don't care how good Harden and Irving is, they're not better than Curry and Klay and they'll be bringing in extra help once they trade Wiggins. So I still think the Nets are in a bad situation, having their window line up with the Lakers, the Clippers, and the Warriors. |

So why am I not worried about Norvel? Because during the Playoffs in the 4th quarter we'll be playing AD at the 5 and he'd bring Norvel out to the perimeter which means no rim protection any more |

Kyrie and Harden is really redundant, they didnt improved the nets they are just pulling each other down and made the defense worst. |

They are hardly competitive with the Cavs of all teams without KD
The big 3 are going to have to log a ridiculous amount of minutes to beat most teams all season outside of the few games they're all hot. They sure as hell can't rely on there defense to keep them in the game with anyone. Cavs looking like an offensive powerhouse in two straight games against them haha |

Without KD, they lose the only one of those three that plays solid defense. Cavs with the sweep, you love to see it. |

I realize KD didn’t play in the second game and they should be given more time before drawing too many conclusions but they’ve surrendered 272 points to the Cleveland Cavaliers in their last two games. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |
