Will be even worse when Drummond chooses the Clippers or Knicks over the Lakers, we all know that LMA will likely choose the Heat not sure why he’s even gonna meet with teams like the Lakers and Nets.
Really dont want him near the Lakers. His time in the league is finished. He didnt moved his feet from the ground for seasons now. I would rather take Damien Jones.
Yo, LMA, Drummond, Folks really nitpicking this? Drummond would be the rebounding beast that can defend 7footers, a much welcomed addition. LMA would be a stretch 5 tag team with Gasol. Of course we sign either one of them
I believe the time for the Lakers to acquire Aldridge has come and gone. He's been a good player throughout his career, but it's slowly starting to dial down. If he'd be willing to play the 5 solely on this team, then we consider him if Drummond goes to NY, BKLYN or CLIPS, but he should be considered the second option. IMO he goes back to Portland or a team where it's less focus on him to produce defensively and come off the bench to score points.
The problem is on defense.San Antonio allows over 116 points per 100 possessions when Aldridge is on the court, a mark that would rank as the second worst in the league. The biggest issue comes at the rim, with opponents shooting over 65 percent in the restricted area when Aldridge is on the court. Opponents also feast from mid-range when Aldridge is around, shooting 48 percent from the in-between area. Both marks are disastrous and sketch a picture of a center who lacks both the athleticism to contest well at the rim and the mobility to be an asset away from the paint.
The Spurs mainly play drop defense in the pick and roll, which means the big man hangs back to discourage penetration and allow the primary defender time to recover. It’s the type of defense most teams with traditional centers use, and it’s designed to prevent shots at the rim (and beyond the arc) by having just two players directly involved in plays instead of triggering several rotations, like the most aggressive schemes. Unfortunately, Aldridge can’t really execute it at this point.
Due to his limited mobility Aldridge has to drop way back to prevent easy blow-bys or lob passes, which leaves opponents with all the room in the world to hit mid-range jumpers and often forces one of his teammates to help. But even while dropping back to the point that he can’t contest pull-ups, Aldridge doesn’t protect the rim. Aggressive ball-handlers simply attack him and finish over or around him.

No to Aldridge even if we lose out on Drummond. He would be a terrible consolation prize. People here (including me) frustrated with Trez's defense, Aldridge makes Trez look like Ben Wallace _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant
Even the washed up version of Aldridge will still spurn us.
The nice thing about this is the Lakers keep on winning while Aldridge keeps on dancing in mediocrity.
LOL to be fair, we were dancing in mediocrity up until last year too.
Allowed to do that when you have what 17 rings? Aldridge on the other hand... Well he will be remembered as never winning anything.
While LMA has an outside shot of making the Hall of Fame, I doubt he’ll really be remembered at all. He wasn’t that good or that well known.
To say he’ll be remembered for never winning is like saying Walt Bellamy, Sidney Moncrief and Paul Westphal are remembered for never winning anything.
You're only remember for never winning if you are an MVP-level guy and the winning is what separates you from the top of the pyramid (Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Elgin Baylor). Those are the guys who everyone remembers didn't win.

Indeed, I was giving him too much credit. In conclusion... Lemarcus sucks ballz!

My favorite description of Aldridge on this board is that he was Brian Cook with athleticism. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

From what I've read, if a team had him and that team was allowed to play 6 on 5 on defense only, and he was one of those 6 defenders, their defense would still be worse than if he was not on the floor all together _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. He's a very good player, and like I said, he has a shot to make the Hall of Fame.
Some fans here just have a chip on their shoulder about him because he passed on us.
He's like the pretty girl who wouldn't go to the prom with you.

Aldridge doesn't have much foot speed anymore, so any team that relies on him to be a rim protecting center is going to be disappointed. He's best suited to come off the bench as a power forward who's teamed with an athletic center.
He would be okay coming off the bench for us and teaming with AD. He'd be terrible if he came off the bench and replaced AD. He would fit in okay with the heat teamed with Bam.
He has a role with the right team, but I don't know that we're the right team for him at this point, or he's the right player for us. He would make a lot more sense if we had Dwight still instead of Harrell.
