Well at least KCP and Kuz have shown signs of life so anything's possible in terms of salary dump trades to clear space for our free agents. Guessing Drum walks to the biggest suitor for his services and we have another revolving door at the 5 spot yet again.

If we win it all, I expect Drummond to run it back. How Rob makes it work? I don't know. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

Convince DS to sign $19m
convince THT to sign $6m
keep Kuzma
Trade away Gasol/KCP/1st rd pick
Let AC/Trez walk
Then Drummond can take Trez's MLE
Dunno about keeping him in the future. But question....
Who here like me play fantasy bb and noticed AD2's crazy #'s throughout the years leading to unrealistic expectations on the new big man?
I know I can say for sure that this was me.
Never seen him play other than vs. the Lakers in the past. I was expecting more of an offensive juggernaut and a monster on the boards.
He'll probably still pan out when our A team gets back but so far, it's been a rough go for a player of his caliber/reputation.
Hopefully it's just a rough start after the coaching staff set a defensive precedent - Maybe he was not expected to play both sides of the floor on past teams. (As Kuz's quote kinda eludes to).

You have to remember he also sat for well over a month before he played a game for us so he was/still is getting back into actual basketball shape. One of the final games he played as a Cav he outplayed Giannis which I do not expect to happen very often at all but it shows what he is capable of. It's a great thing to see him sacrifice his offense (sometimes too much in some games) to try and do what the coaching staff/team wants him to do on both ends. You'll see him feast soon especially when AD and Lebron come back and teams absolutely can not primarily focus on him or Dennis anymore.
Yeah, something tells me he may sit until AD comes back, which wouldn't be a bad thing, however he does need to get in basketball Shape.
I think the Lakers may figure out a way to keep him here long term and this is why... From a future perspective, this is AD's team and what's the biggest concern for him as a player on the floor? AD doesn't want to play the Five (5) and that's Drummond's primary and only role.
When LBJ leaves, AD will need confidence in knowing that his future as a player is backed with the right pieces surrounding him and Drummond is that guy. They are basically the same age and will likely pair up for many years to come.
We have some high-salary guys, I'd hate to lose Trez, I'm ok with letting KCP go, we've given him a ton of money over the years and he hasn't been to bad to speak of, but if it came down to him and Drummond, I'd have to go with Drummond, unless their previous Detroit ties is strong enough to keep him around. AD, Schroder and whomever else, I'd be ok with although it'd be tuff decision to make, but one to make nonetheless...
In a simple math: Schroder, KCP, Matthews, Caruso, Gasol, if we can find a way to leverage their current salaries and Drummond be willing to accept, that would be the move.
The struggle would be finding a way to keep Trez on the roster, but to me he's a significant piece to the Lakers future as well. Kuzma maybe the odd man out.
I believe these players are the future of the Lakers Team going forward post LBJ:
THT+McKinnie+Kuzma+AD+Drummond+Trez+Markieff+MacLeMore.
Maybe 3-4 of those players are potential All-Star, that's including THT.
Sorry, but disagree that we strip our team's depth for an old school center.
As a buyout guy, he is as good as you can get and I love him for this year.
But the cost to pay him what he wants (probably 18-20m/year) is too high for a center who can't stretch the floor. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

This.
Considering AD will Anchor our defense when it matters. I rather have depth than overpaying players that are interchangeable as a role player in our team.

In fact, trying to get someone like Dieng for the minimum in the offseason would be a nice way to go, then be a buyout season King again. Rob destroys buyout season. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Or bring back Dwight/McGee. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

I'd be open to Dwight. JAV? If he's cool with being 3rd string. But I do think we need a big who can space the floor at the center spot too. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Could always get Howard for $2.5M. Not gutting the team for a non-superstar. Howard was doing basically the same thing as Dre. _________________ #SellTheLakers
Dude is nailing free throws, guarding guys on the perimeter, forcing people into ugly shots, an outlet for easy scores all down the stretch in close games.
Better than advertised for me. Is his free throw shooting an aberration or did he tweak something? I haven't really watched him before he came here.
