Really hoping the Spurs cut Keita Bates-Diop and we can get him in on a 2-way or nonguaranteed contract for the 15th spot. Drafted in 2018, so should be eligible by 2-way, I think. Liked him as a potential pick for us back then.
Bit of a tweener forward, which we could use right now. 6-8, 230, with a 7-1 WS, was a point forward/ utility-guy at Ohio State. Not a volume 3 shooter, but decent at corner threes. Not the quickest player, but willing and works hard at defense. |

Oh well, so much for KBD. Not eligible for a 2-way contract, but might be worth a non-guaranteed contract for veteran-level defense. 31 years old, 6-8, with a 7-0 WS, known as a defensive forward. |

A-FA is one of those guys who projects a great ceiling, but never got off the ground. HE WAS A CENTERPIECE OF THE CP3 TRADE - but if you look back, N'Awlins would've been much better off with the Lakers package than with what they got from the Clippers. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Lakers sign a stretch 5!!
On another note,

Haven’t watch him play lately, he fits the wing who can play defense type. |

In the multiverse somewhere, in addition to the trade for Russ, we use a S&t of Schro towards bringing in Buddy and we retain Hield.
In that particular case, 2 vet min guys @ 1.7m each get replaced (the who is a whole other debate) for the baseline additional salary (not including unlikely incentives) of AC/Buddy’s 31.7m.
So instead of about 42m in luxury taxes, we would be paying about 153m.

When I see valuations like this, I wonder whether there is anyone who would actually pay $5B for an NBA team. Maybe there is, but man would that be a risky investment. Even with our current crop of zillionaires who are launching themselves into space, that would be an awfully expensive toy. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

It would more likely be an ownership group. Remember that if the Lakers did ever sell, AEG has right of first refusal. Could also see the Dodgers ownership group making an offer. |

keep in mind, the valuation is one thing, buying is another. you have to pay a premium. Ballmer paid like 2.2B for the clippers while the Clippers was worth like 900 M.
with that being said, if the Lakers are for sale, i can see buyer paying 10B or more, and it will be a fight. |

Someone said that AEG doesn't actually have a right of first refusal, but instead has a right of first look or something like that. The Dodgers' sale was $2B, and I believe it included the stadium and some of the surrounding real estate.
Anyway, there seems to be an assumption that if one franchise sold for $2B, then another franchise could sell for $5B (or, as Mad5555 says, $10B). I have doubts about this, but I could be proven wrong some day. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

Interesting final snag. Seems like we needed some perimeter D and, while AB doesn't have size, he's a decent option. I like the 2-ways as well although, admittedly, I know nothing about Huff. I like us acquiring his type of player, though. |

Looks like the Nets tried to see if Cacock can develop a 3PT shot and said nah. |

The added bonus of AB is he is an absolute pest 94 feet, which will be valuable for this team. If he comes in for 10-15 min and disrupts the flow of the opponent, that will help mask other deficiencies in half court defense. |

Despite having a slew of guards and pending that Avery is healthy, I like it. It certainly makes up for losing AC and KCP's perimeter defense. Bradley and Bazemore would be a nice defensive duo.
But my question is, if health is not an issue....why has Bradley changed teams so much? Is there something about his personality we don't know about? From what I can tell, he seems like a nice guy and a good teammate (Bubble MIA aside). _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.

LOL I was waiting for this one. But now I have to go do stuff so I won't be as quick on the draw LOL
This was interesting tho
Per Gozlan
Avery Bradley is on a non-guaranteed deal so I can see the Lakers waiving him once Talen Horton-Tucker and Trevor Ariza get healthy. It would cost the Lakers $7M in combined payroll and luxury tax expenses if Bradley becomes guaranteed and finishes the season with them.
