This is one weird dude....its like he is blessed with quick twitch explosive muscles but on defense its like he is so slow and has zero quick twitch muscles. |

Pretty bad display on defense but some of them were also fault of Melo. Good shooting stroke, hope he can keep up |

Naw. All of Monk's defensive woes are entirely of his own making. Melo has nothing to do with it. Monk has beyond horrible defensive awareness/I.Q.. _________________ ZOOM!!!!!!!!!!!! |

it’s not his muscles, but his brain and heart that work differently on offense and defense. That’s was drives the machine. |

Remember how bad Kuz was on defense and Vogel made him a good one

Kuzma spent time working on his defense with Ron Artest. Monk is legitimately one of the worst defensive players in the league. Putting on a new jersey doesn't change that and it's going to take a lot of work and commitment for him to improve. He's averaging 5 shots a game and less than 20 minutes a night. And that's with 3 guys at his position out with injuries. Not exactly fertile ground to blossom but this was predictable. We'll see how he develops as the season goes on. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

Kuzma put in the necessary work in the offseason, its not going to happen during the season. Maybe next year if he sticks around. |

Kudos to Monk on a nice game!
If Monk can play with more consistency and more defensive effort he could become a really good player for this team.
Stats vs Grizz:
4-7FG, 2-3 treys, 2-2FT, 2 rb, 4 dimes, 0 TO, 12 points, +19
Quote: | Dancing Barry quote:
He came in to take a pass in the final seconds and was fouled for FTs with 7 seconds left. He made both clutch ones. Thank you! We’ve got him, Melo and AD out there and avoided Russ or Melo shooting in those situation.
Strong game from Monk. He sank a couple of threes, but also had 4 assists without a turnover. To me, that’s the bigger thing. Just making the right play consistently is something he has struggled with.
One of his best assists tonight was a sweet bounce pass on the break to Melo for the layup. LeBron knows to look for him. He fired a quick advance pass after a made basket to Monk for a three.
They also had the inverse pick and roll that led to an open Monk three. A couple attacks from Monk to round out the scoring. Defensively, we hit him well.
The Stats: He scored 12 points on 4-7 shooting (2-3 from three, 2-2 from the line) to go with 2 boards, 4 assists, 1 steal and no fouls in 21 minutes. He was a +19.

Great game, but the only reason he was +31 is because he didn’t play with that rondo Westbrook lineup, lol |

Good example of why you want more than just a shooter for a role player. Not only will he make a spot up shot, if that's not there or falling, can be a threat as a driver. That's multi facet role player. We have lacked those big time over the years around AD/Bron. |

That was one of the gutsiest threes I've ever seen. Really glad we picked up this dude. |

Monk is an offensive assassin. He has no fear. He has room for improvement but he is a fun player to watch.
17 points & he was a +31 |

Monk with a big 17 points tonight! He was +31 which is insane. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Funny if Monk and McBucket where on the same team it would be the second coming of JR and Korver.
