Obviously the lakers need a wing who can shoot and defend. Going small is always a denfensive liability, but the hope is that the offense rectifies that that on the offensive end. The lakers don’t have small ball players that are making defenses pay for that, making them just an undersized team that lacks offensive firepower.
Vogel is not all to blame, but his rotations are suspect. At one point at the end of the third he had Russ, THT, Stanley, Reeves, and Melo. Thankfully Melo showed up, but defenses are literally dropping back and daring the lakers to shoot. |
