This is such a B.S. narrative. The Lakers could have had both of them. Look at Marc Stein’s recent article about how LeBron pushed for the Lakers to re-sign Caruso this past summer. They didn’t for tax saving purposes alone. |
I'm curious who is talking to Stein these days. He usually doesn't have much in the way of sources, but apparently someone talked to him about both Caruso and Scott Brooks. I'm wondering whether the rift between the front office and Rich Paul isn't healed after all. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

If anyone is talking to Marc Stein, I’d be surprised if it was someone in LeBron’s camp. After all Stein all but called LeBron anti-semitic during the David Blatt firing, which apparently annoyed LeBron’s people. I suppose time heals all, but it would be strange for his source to be Rich Paul. |

This aged like fine wine. I honestly thought Lebron would get Westbrook playing the "right" way, but Westbrook is his own personality, which is fine for pretty much any other team. |

I think the dude is somewhat handicapped in term of decision making.
And also the way he shoots the basketball. he is just incapable of changing a broken mechanic over the years because of his mental handicap. |

I pray we will not have to cope with the Russ situation next season.
Sadly unless we have a miracle trade…ugh.

unless we get rid of Lebron and Westbrick for assets next year.
I think we will be coping with not making the playoff for another decade. |

Acquiring Russ was always a two year move. Maybe Pelinka can pull a rabbit out of his hat but I doubt it. The guy can't even move THT let alone Russ. _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

I agree. It's crazy, but I am on board with a rebuild at this point. I think Lakers need to cut their losses. LeBron and AD, don't get me wrong, that's a once-in-a-lifetime duo and instant contenders... but the front office blew it and the franchise is stuck now. The Lakers won't do this and won't admit that they blew it, ever. I also don't trust this current front office to rebuild properly.

Sadly looks like we are going to have to cope again. Sigh.
Praying for a miracle trade to unload Russ. 🙏 _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Neither did this

I guess they were technically right though...no play-in tournament this year |

He’s somehow worse than I imagined, and I didn’t think that was possible.
Westbrick is the NBA equivalent to the silver surfer, he joins a team and 2 weeks later, the team dies. |

Coping, Season 2. Here we are again.
Russ, please prove us wrong. You are the 2nd highest paid player in the NBA. All we ask is for you to be an average level NBA guard. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I honestly prefer if he stays than losing FRPs just to get some other teams disposables. See again at the deadline if a team that is a contender now (pretender more like) gives up by then due to injuries or misfit or just being bad. But no outgoing FRP pls _________________ 48 49 50 52 53 54 72 80 82

FACTory
I would prefer Lowry but Westbrook is a beast. Imagine last years team being ran by Westbrook when Lebron and AD went down. No play in tournament. Also AD and Lebron had to keep telling DS they want to see the same aggressiveness when they get back. You won’t have to have that conversation with Westbrook. And lastly Poor George best season was when he played next to Westbrook. I hope he could do the same for Lebron |
Dude all the accomplish you mentioned is in regular season.
And then he proceed to be a bonehead in playoff, and did the stupid cradle move and pissed off Lillard and got sent home first round.
The most impressive thing he ever did for his team was kidnap Paul George, so he can’t talk to the Lakers and throw him a party and forced him to sign.
But Paul George still left after realizing westbrick is westbrick |
Cool don’t celebrate with us when we win it all. Keep that same energy. |
Dude I want the team to win.
Critiquing our dumb moves doesn’t make me not a fan. |
There is a difference between critiquing something and being a whining "Debby Downer". |
I love all the crappy WB takes. Gonna throw them in a juicy thread after we win our chip and he shows up big time for us in the playoffs. |
Spicy discussion |

How ball dominant is he going to be? I'll watch how he scores, how the ball moves and the offense flows, also give him some time to acclimate to LBJ and AD. I also want to see what level of effort he puts into defense and how well he rotates and plays team defense within Vogel's schemes. Also chemistry. How does he relate to others on the sidelines? Does he lift other players up? Does he lead?
No expectations at all. I just want to see how this works. That's how I'll cope with having WB on this team. |
Welp a year later here is my objective take - he's been a cesspool of failure on every measure, every single measure I cared about.
Ball dominant
Dumb in the clutch when he has the ball
Did not acclimate at all to LBJ
Zero effort on defense most of the time
Destroys chemistry
Refused to play Vogel's game, wanting the ball in his own hands, no defense
No leadership
One more season of this dog's breakfast. At least we provided some world class entertainment for GM's throughout the rest of the league as we tried dumping him.
Best case scenario right now is the second highest paid player in the league plays a key situational role on our second unit at times where we don't need defense, and shuts his pie hole every time he feels like complaining about his role. |

I think I'm well beyond trying to cope. I've gone to the stage of no hope in the future of this franchise. |

I’m more concerned with Lebron and AD showing up for 50+ games than with Russ. Because if they are no shows for a large part of the season, Westbrook could average a triple double and the team goes nowhere. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |
