DS as a sixth man would be better i think |
I disagree because Reeves can’t defend the 1 with pressure like Dennis. Hell Pooles scoring started because reeves was on him in the fourth and he shook him off three straight plays. JVG commented that reeves was making mistake, reeves got stuck, and then Reeves got pulled. He did much better at the 2/3 depending on what you call him and DLo than he did at point guard. He’s no KCP on that end. |

I have a feeling Ham is going to start both like today |
They need to have one of them on the court without Bron …
Once Bron is back you can sit them both if needed. |

Ham will start both, I think. And adjust the minutes to have them running 2nd unit for a while. We got AR as well to run the 2nd unit. Same line up as today with Bron coming in for Brown Jr, I guess. |
A nice tidy tandem. |

Hopefully, DB was able to watch. I always look forward to his breakdown of the game. |

He's not a ghost of himself. He dropped 42 and 31 in the games prior to this. Reaves and everyone else that switched on him just didn't let him have an inch. They played him brilliant all game. It's what they did not what Thompson didn't do. |
Yes but he is a step slower. And while that doesn't prevent him from getting his shots everytike, it does mean that he is a little easier to contain. Will be interesting to see if GSW resigns him. |
Flamethrower prior to this game. Y'all don't watch GSW which is fine but, seriously... |

I think when playing teams with super quick point guards it’s the correct call to start Dennis with Dlo. |

It’s also about them not dying on those screens. Every laker who hit a screen for Klay kept running through them. They pulled a Fisher chasing Ray Allen and made the refs either call an offensive or defensive foul before okay got the ball. Then that led to the warriors slowing down on the moving screens and okay not having his room to catch and launch

Dude I think you are forgetting all the game winners Quick hit and his series in 1995 against the best defensive foursome backcourt by far in the league with Payton, McMillan, Gill and Askew with 3 of these guys all-defense caliber in his very first playoff series. Van Exel won that series single handedly and Robert Packed Payton to the point Payton learned you dont talk (bleep) to Van Exel. Also the game 5 at the Alamodome with 2 clutch shots and 1 to win the game????? Also in 1997, he cooked Stockton a couple games as well but in 1998, he was bad. But dont forget Fisher in 1998 as well because he was noticeably scared of Stockton and had a horrible series himself. Finally 2003 vs Sacramento, Van Exel pretty much was the MVP and difference maker of that series. I still remember Quick laughing at Shaq and Kobe saying he got further than they did that year.

DLO can open the oop game a lot more since he’s an offensive threat himself in contrast to turnover RW with no short game |

The Warriors were 21-6 at home before tonight. Even without Steph, they have tons of continuity with players who have been playing together for years and running the same schemes with the same coaching staff for nearly a decade.
So how did the Lakers win this game without LeBron? Russ was single-handedly destroying this team. Yes, I know there is a contingent that says that the blame can’t all be placed on Russ, and have pointed to mistakes that others players have made in close games or poor decisions by Ham, and all of that is technically true.
However, no team is perfect. No team will always play perfectly. No coach will have flawless decision-making. So, yes, while other problems existed, Russ was such an overwhelming, all-time detriment.
Look at the way the ball moves. Look at the spacing. Look at how the players who attack the basket are actually able to finish at the rim and not violently throw the ball against the backboard or rim. Watch the final 90 seconds of quarters and how the Lakers maneuver them competently, instead of devolving into a team that commits terrible turnovers and takes bad shots.
It’s such a breathe of fresh air. They look like a real team again. |

Quote: | Incredible defensive gameplan from LA's coaching staff tonight + wonderful execution.
LA took GS out of their off-screen stuff with top locking + AD gapping his man to take away cuts.
Dennis & ARsuppressed & disrupted the hell out of their guys all night long on those actions. |

I’ll give you he roasted the kings in 03. He also was outright horrible versus the Spurs the next series which got him out of town shooting like 37% while old man Kerr came in and sent him home.
Van Exel in 97 took 6 threes a game in that series and he shot 27%. He gave shaq no spacing or defense. The Portland series before that he shot 30% from the field and 27% from three.
In 98 he shot 24% from the field versus the Jazz and he shot 19% from three. He was good versus Seattle. He sucked versus Portland that first round too again shooting 25% from the field and 29% from three.
He was as much a joke and choke artist as Eddie Jones when he had expectations. The mavs were trying to get out the west he choked. The Lakers played the Jazz and he choked both years.
It’s similar to Van Exel and Eddie being replaced by Fisher and Fox. Fisher and Fox had intelligence, balls, and toughness when things got tough despite being less talented. Russ had the talent but Dlo has actual iq and poise. So a talent downgrade is going to be a system upgrade on the court |

Vando was outstanding. D'lo still managed to be productive even though they put their best defender on him and were switching everything on his screens.
Rob really got the most out of that protected 1st. Beasley I am sure will have some big games as well. Which is just they cherry on top. |

Definitely possible, but with troy brown or rui in for Lebron that's a huge drop in playmaking. I could see that as a big reason why he started DLO/Dennis.
No way DLO doesnt start. |
