In any given game Westbrook just might play at an all-star level and contribute to a win. But for a series I'm completely happy with him being on the other team. |

I already said this several times but you don't want a motivated Westbrook on a team that has beaten us 80% of the time over the last ten years.
The Clippers need a playmaker, they have shooting... they have perimeter defenders to offset Russ's lazy defense... this isn't good for us.
Over time... sure Russ will likely poison the team.
Or maybe he's finally had his Dwight/Carmelo epiphany and will behave for awhile.
But meanwhile Russ will carve up DLo and Mo Bamba.
Our main hope is that Kawhi gets hurt again. |

Russ had good stretches with one of AD or LeBron. Now the deepest team in the league, well equipped to cover a fraction of his weaknesses on the court, is getting him for free.
It's most likely going to work better, but I have no idea by how much. |

Same BS that was typed when we got him. He will NEVER be motivated enough to humble himself. Which is what would be needed in order for him to mesh over there. |

Hey, I hope I'm wrong.
I just don't think I am. Especially for the short term... and especially against the Lakers. |

Him motivated to try and stick it to us is the last thing the Clippers want. That means he will be ball hogging and trying to be a one man wrecking crew. Exactly what opposing teams want. Combine that with the fact they just brought in ANOTHER player who was a locker room problem because he felt he wasn't getting enough touches, doesn't seem like a solid plan for victory to me. But hey, maybe this time he will actually prove everyone wrong. A decade plus into his career. |

I would rather have Russ on a team that I am playing against, then to have him on my team.
That's Russ in a nutshell |

Russ at 47 million is a horror show
Russ for free is a dangerous player.
It's the same principle as Schroder just at a larger scale.
It takes awhile for his energy Vampire nature to take effect... and winning cures any effects from the vampirism. |

Whatever his stat line, count on him for the critical errors that contribute mightily to losses in the big games. |

his assist numbers will likely go up in a big way given the clippers have shooters and bigs all over the roster. the clippers also needs a PG that has playmaking ability. i see this as a perfect fit for both parties. |

I agree that him at the vet minimum is definitely a lot less painful than at 47 million. lol At that price you just cut him the minute he becomes that vampire. |

Yes, it's really bad for us.
Obviously beating this team in the playoffs would be one of the most satisfying in team history... but I find it unlikely with a healthy Kawhi.
I cringe just thinking about Russ's smug face. |

People forget that Russ helped us many times.
And Lue isn't going to let him stay in if he's chucking or throwing away the ball like Ham did.
This sucks. |

A little too dramatic for me. We are not even in the playoff's yet. How about we get there before we start worrying and depressing over a guy most could not wait to get off the roster. Russ helped us to what? Almost last place in the west? lol |

I assume this will motivate Bron and AD. It would not be a good look for them if Russ has any success away from them. _________________ Kobe.

When Lebron was out Russ and AD did look good together. That is why I can see Zu/Plumlee working with him in the P&R. Add Lebron to them and there wasn’t enough basketballs to go around. I think that the main difference is that Lou won’t be compelled to play him 30 mpg like Ham did. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Oh we will be motivated... If everyone is healthy it will be an epic series for the neutral.
But the problem is that we are 7-31 against them.
I don't know why people keep thinking this would go well for us.
Of course I'll be rooting for us and praying for a miracle... but on paper this is a big big problem. |

Eh, the Clippers were +900 to win before this announcement and are now +900, I don’t see it as a deal maker or breaker. The move they made that likely changes things for them is adding Plumlee. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Because Lue seems to be a better coach
Lue will find strenghts in Westbrook and guide him to only use those weapons
Drive and dish
Force a bucket with his willingness to get to the hoop
Plus being reunited with PG could really help his mentality
I wish him the best off the court and hope he tortures our step-franchise like he did to us |
