Lets set a franchise record in 3s made at the half because of him. When he's on, he's on. _________________ "The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong." — Gandhi |

The threat of Malik Beasley is enough for opposing players not to drop down, then u add DLo which is Steph like as a Lakers so far, our back Court suddenly are the anti 21% from early the season, open that floor up, let AD/Bron feast the paint! |

I won't be surprised to see him at 38% in less than 5 games.

Guy takes bad shots but has the ability to make them. His presence with Lebron, Russell and Davis out there will be vital, even when he is not hitting.
Perfect example of stats not telling you just how important the fit and value of a player is. He will be critical for us. |

Anthony Davis lost this for us
Thank you for the stupid ass foul that sent them to the free throw line to shoot three free throws whenever we were up
Then missing free throws that could’ve sealed it

If the lakers insist on having a one-dimensional shooter, they really need to trade Beasley next year and add Seth Curry who makes half the salary. I watch Beasley in last year's playoffs and he Caspered most of the series.
Seth on the other hand hits huge shots in crunch time. I think it's because he is always overlooked and known as the lesser Curry. That chip on his shoulder reminds me of Fisher. |

I don't think this is a shooting slump. His 3P% percentage is on par for how it was for Utah. I'm thinking that what you see currently is what you will get with him.
On another note, if he isn't driving straight to the basket he should not be dribbling. How many times did he fumble the ball pounding the rock on the perimeter? _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

Not worth 16 mil per season. I would rather keep Reaves for that money. What Lakers actually get from him? Every five or 6 games good shooting night. Is that enough to justify 16mil. Absolutely not. He is not playing defense. Not playmaking. Not doing anything expect having occasionally good shooting night. I would offer his new contract 21 mil 3 year. You want great. You don't want. Goodbye and good luck. |

Agreed, although maybe my brain hasn't adjusted to the new cap. 3 yr/ $21M or so seems reasonable. |

Maybe reasonable to us and the team. Malik Monk got 2/20 after shooting 39% for though on less volume and sample size. Beasley is perpetually one hot=shooting year away from securing a $20+ million AAV contract. He won't forget how to shoot and his style of play isn't conducive to injuries so I don't think he will desperate enough to take that deal. Someone will throw more at him with their MLE. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

Not in this case. His 3P-shooting is on par with his Utah numbers and on similar volume. I think this is simply who he is, at least for the year. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

Yeah, you'd just disrespect tf out of him if you really offered that deal. He's a shooter with a good history of shooting well outside of this year where he bounced to two new places.. He hasn't shot this bad from 3 since 2017. There would be several teams more then happy to pay above that price. Monk also was close to being blackballed/banned from the league if he kept up with the drugs which is the only reason we could sign him when we did for cheap so i'm sure that was also a thought with his current contract.
I'm down to give him the rest of the Season and into the Playoffs to see how it all looks before I even think about fully judging him. I really wanted to see him alongside Bron for a stretch of games which we hopefully get to see eventually before Seasons end.
I do agree that he's been far too inconsistent thus far but it's just too early to say anything definitive at this point. The other teams are clearly still worried about him so he is also helping with spacing and is always 1 shot away from getting on fire. |

Then he shouldn't be starting. Start Reaves already. _________________
