We should really try hard to win out. The 6th seed isn't an easy path but it certainly presents us with the most favorable matchups. Plus. If we play everyone and do claim it. we get a week off. _________________ Kobe.

D’Angelo Russell entered tonight’s game a +81 in his 335 minutes as a Laker thus far, and he finished a +35 tonight in Chicago (average was +7.4 prior to Wednesday).
He’s shooting 47.1% from the field and 39.5% from 3 towards 18.6 points with 6.4 assists to 2.2 turnovers.
Great stats, and meaningful stats because he compliments LBJ's and AD's games, rather than taking away from it. DLO and Reaves can both create offense for themselves and for others, and both can thrive with or without the ball in their hands.
At the right price, he is the perfect fit with Lebron/AD.
If we are going away from Lebron/AD, then still you keep him for asset management/S&T.
Concerns were raised when we made the trade that whether he'd hurt us defensively . He lacks lateral quickness, but that's manageable when you got great interior protection with AD. DLo doesn't over rotate as he's aware he doesn't have the quickness to get back. He contests 3Pts well and his size makes it difficult for guards to get a good look. He also communicates well with teammates on defense.
Most importantly, calm ball handling offensively means less transition opportunity for the opposition. Lakers got killed by Bulls due to so many poor turn overs in the game we lost. Bron also emphasized after the recent win that having these many ball handlers means no stress of playmaking for a single player which is so helpful. _________________ Showtime 2.0
In 12 games, @Dloading has a net rating of 13.9, by far the best on LAL (121.1 offense, 107.2 defense). In his 371 minutes, he’s a +116, good for an average of 9.7 per game. He’s shooting 47.9% overall and 40.0% from 3 (2.7 of 6.7 attempts), with 6.2 assists to 2.3 turnovers.
The intangibles of lifting the crowd at times and his own teammates has been so blatantly clear and something I missed quite a bit with a guy like Russ on the team who was a literal vampire to good vibes.
DLo has been a great surprise defensively as others have said as well since his team defense and being vocal is absolutely up to par even if he's a mediocre at best man to man defender which can luckily be masked on our roster since his effort is still clearly there overall.
I'd be kind of devastated if we just threw all these fitting pieces away in the off season for overrated/overpriced "names" like Kyrie or Dame which either of those would be Franchise killers imo. Adding another maxed out Superstar over 30 is not a smart move when our already 2 max guys over 30 miss plenty of games. We need depth or at least an iron man like 3rd Superstar which we do not have anywhere close to the pieces to attain anyways. I really hope our FO isn't looking too much into that route after finally having a solid roster and a team worthy of rooting for again with some actual good young talent that still has a little upside.
We could easily be among the best in the West next Season if we bring most of the roster back even counting AD/Bron/DLo missing some regular Season games imo.

He'll never be great, but he's not as bad as some people make him out to be. The fact that he'll never be great defensively isn't a big issue at all. _________________ Music is my medicine

Yeah he's a low key underrated defender.

He took a pretty big leap this season.
I think it’s just maturity and knowing how to play angles to make up for his relatively low to NBA standard athleticism.
How athletic is D’Angelo compared to Harden, Nash, Ginobili, and Curry? Lack of athleticism didn’t seem to limit their games in the same way. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

They are all more atheltic than DLo. Curry has good quickness and only below average in terms of bounce. Harden has a bigger body than DLo and is quicker, way more bounce than DLo. Those guys have similar athelticism to AR than DLo. Nash was quick. _________________ Showtime 2.0

Oh, so those guys are unathletic for STARS but still average or above average overall, and D’Angelo is unathletic for an NBA PLAYER? Is he just somewhat below average or near the bottom of the league? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

DLo must be amongst the most unathletic guards in the NBA. He's slow in terms of lateral quickness and barely has the bounce to dunk. I think he dunked couple of times in his first stint as a Laker and looked like he had to put all effort for hands to reach rim level.
I think he has deceptive quickness in his first step forward. Bron and AD have said the same. That along with his handles and craftiness has been key to him finishing well in the paint once he gained the experince in NBA. _________________ Showtime 2.0

His first step is underrated. Good enough to get by a lot of defenders. He also has decent handles which allows him to create space for a jump shot or to get to the rack. He has a decent burst of speed at times, has a nice jumper included with the ability to finish on the right or left side of the basket. Everything else, in terms of athletic ability, is average by NBA standards. He gets by with what I mentioned on top of his good IQ and awareness. In the half court, he's very good at utilizing screens to his advantage. _________________ Music is my medicine
He's matured a lot. Had 12 pts and 10 assists with 3 turnovers. But he was in the ears and face of his teammates when they were making plays out there. Building up Rui and Vando when they were making things happen.
Seems like a vet leader out there and he's only 27
It's nice that when he has a relatively inefficient game (12 points on 13 possessions), he's still giving you 10 assists against 3 to's. Such a nice supporting piece on a team that doesn't need him to go for 20 everyday.

Yup. Since Lebron has been back, he's been facilitating much more. Nice to have a player that can do that and still be effective without having the ball in his hands all the time _________________ Music is my medicine
