Jalen Hood-Schifino is a young (19), good point guard, with size - 6'6, 6'10 wingspan. Plays with great poise and control as a playmaker, great IQ, strong on ball defender, capable shooter. He's one of my favorites in the draft, reminds me of Jason Kidd.
Posted this in the other thread, made two videos of projected first rounders (probably missed a few) with the goal of creating a synthesized version of observing players’ shooting forms.
Picks 1-15:
Picks 15-30:
Thoughts on who stood out to me after watching some tape (I know a guy like Lively is arguably the best fit and even BPA at 17 but couldn't find enough shooting highlights of him, happy that he's shooting from the outside more regularly now).
Keyonte George
Jalen Hood-Schifino
Maybe more realistic for 17:
Kobe Bufkin - seems to be a scoring guard with a smooth touch
Brice Sensabaugh - bigger body and his form stood out
Dariq Whitehead - smooth, I think this guy has insane potential, shot a good consistent percentage from three at Duke
Jordan Hawkins - this dude is a total sniper, I’d be ecstatic to pick him up
Amari Bailey - scorer type from UCLA, not bad at all but probably too high for 17 _________________ John 14:6 - "Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
Miller would be nice, he is probably there at 17.
Still would prefer Hawkins as we need so much better shooting.
Djurisic at 47 would be amazing but probably not there.....maybe move up in the second to snag him, if the Lakers even work him out. Hope they check out the foreign players
In terms of addressing the team’s need, I think we should target a big 3&D wing on the draft.
We can resign Bamba to address our center issue.
We need another reliable scorer who can’t be a liability on defense. This type of player is not available at #17 and has to be acquired via trade.
Ben Sheppard is elite at moving without the ball and getting a shot. He also has a pure shot, great fundamentals. I feel he is a sleeper in the draft and may fall to 2nd round, but could easily go in the 1st round.
I like Maxwell lewis out of Pepperdine. We can trade back pick up another pick and get him. I think he is able to contribute immediately on the offensive end while he figures it out defensively.
Sth like #17 and #47 for #26, #29 and #32 from Pacers
I mean the mocks show the potential to draft talent like Bilal Coulibaly, 7'3 wingspan and Kris Murray.
Now I'm not saying either player will reach that upside, but that's a lot of wing talent there. You could draft that player, no pressure since you already have Rui/Vandy, and slowly bring them along.
This an important time to get the most talented player. Not saying any one here is a lock to be a star. But you never know when you can get fortunate with development and all that.
I would draft BPA and not move this pick. We have some youth, but not enough for me to feel confident once Bron moves on/retires.

Ben Sheppard (Belmont) is a fast-riser who played really well in the combines. He's moving up the boards and definitely has NBA potential.
James Nnaji might be the best center in the draft.
6'10 with a 7'7 wingspan and very athletic.
Good at put backs, catching lobs, rebounding, and defense.
He has a very strong frame, tough, and plays physical.
Won't necessarily spread the floor and he is raw.
I think he has the ability to grow into creating his own shot on the block, but right now, he needs a point to create for him.
Seems like a center that would do well with AD; could play more of a Dwight and Javele role.
He is also young, I believe he is only 18.
Someone they would only look at as an undrafted FA or 2nd round pick. I am not sure he would contribute (if ever) any time soon. So likely when he would be able to, the klutch era is over.
Interesting that two teams are forfeiting their 2nd round picks this season. Could mean the undrafted pool is a little stronger. Agents should want their players to end up with the Lakers given the strength of our player development and propensity to give guys opportunities. We have picks 17 and 47, Max is on his second year and Swider is on the second year of his two-way. But other than that, there isn't a lot of lottery talent to have to fight through if you're a young player trying to get a look. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night.

I wasn't suggesting pick him with our 17th pick, to be clear.
I was thinking more of our 2nd round pick if he is still around and the other best available are off the board.
But Klutch definitely plays a big role in any player we choose.
With Lakers having Bron and AD, I don't think Lakers are looking to select a project.
James Nnaji, I don't think he is a project, he can contribute right away, but I get what you are saying.
I think it's insane for Lakers to keep forcing AD to play 5, even though he doesn't wanna play it and isn't as effective in the position. I don't care how much AD compromise and plays 5, he doesn't like it. He is most effective at 5 when the other teams big isn't as physical. We should be looking to relieve him from that position. Not just in the draft, but also free agency, and not just for a center that could spread the floor.
