If we play Denver in round 1, we are not even talking about playing anyone in round 2. This is not a valid argument.
The reason the Lakers traded for WB was relayed by Pelinka. He felt Lebron was at an age where he needed a 3rd star, particularly an all-star PG that can push him off the ball. Even now, this current roster, is built with the same vision. Reaves and DLO do a lot more creating than Lebron did in the championship season (led league in assists). I don't agree they overreacted to the Suns series of 2021. They (Pelinka) 1) Always wanted a 3rd star next to AD/Bron, and 2) Continue to feel Lebron should be playing next to a lot of creating guards. 3) Wouldn't shock me if they star chase a bit this summer. |
What? Overreacting to playoff performances/results is almost a tradition in sports. Russell was bad against the Nuggets, therefore he is a garbage player who we can never rely on. We crashed out against the Suns, so we needed to blow it up and get Westbrook. The Lebron window was closing, so we were absolutely in panic mode. Of course Pelinka says it was a calm, rational decision. What do you expect him to say? |
Yep. Nobody could hit a shot in that Phoenix series. Dennis had the 0 point game. Kuzma shot 17% from 3. 29% for Caruso. 21% for KCP. Drummond struggled. When the following season started they were all gone. They had a bad series. They weren’t bad players. Would have been nice to have All Defensive 1st team Caruso to throw at Murray or have Kuz’s size and versatility to throw at Porter or to have a sharpshooting defensive guard like KCP on our team instead of kicking our ass on the other team. It’s a lesson to hopefully learn from. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

That over correction is what I'm concerned about the most. LBJ's biological clock was ticking then, but it is raging now. He is probably going to put pressure on this FO to do something big (aka Russ situation all over again). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

gritty team that will be fun to watch but arent a serious contender. Probably doesn't make it out of 2nd round assuming our competition improves.
Pray our "dynamic" duo plays more than last season's 56 games. _________________ Kobe.

Doesn’t matter how many games they play, both need to be fully healthy when playoffs starts |

Schro over Bogdan at PG to maintain defensive capabilities there considering Dlo’s struggles. Using Beasley significantly increased lux tax so just letting him walk and rolling with Schro makes more sense to me since the upgrade would be so small, perhaps too small of an improvement to justify abandoning the chemistry with Schro and adding 10’s of million of spending. If we’re gonna pay $30 mil in lux tax while staying the the repeater penalty we need a better upgrade than Bog over Schro.
I’d take Divinceno over LWIV tho at SG as you suggested.
TBjr over Stanley Johnson at SF to maintain continuity and chemistry since it may not be much of an upgrade if at all.
Gabe over TT since your suggestion has 4 C’s and only 2 PF’s, especially with Gabe having been here for two years, that familiarity and chemistry would be more valuable than TT racking up DNP CD as the 4th C. Also, we need Gabe at PF since Vandi isn’t really a factor there, his value was shown to be at SF and a liability was witnessed with him against front court players.
I like Biyomo and Divinceno in your scenario. Wantanbe and the draft picks are interesting too! _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. I didn’t see that this off season.” |

Happy for Frank, but he is getting dealt with a bad hand again. Defensive coach with no good defenders on the team is bad |

I like most of this lineup suggestion... I'd rather have Brook but maybe Mo is all that is possible with our resources. Bogdan would be good insurance against another DLo post season flame out. Don't know if that's enough to get him, but I'd be happy to see it.
DDV would also be an upgrade at guard until Max is ready.
I'm not sure about Howard after our last pick of a Michigan player over Shamet or Timelord. (Or Brunson, Gary Trent Jr, Bruce Brown, or Melton for that matter)
If we pick him because we work him out and he's the BPA, then that's one thing... if we do another nepo bullsh*t move like we did with Lonzo and Mo... then it would be a sad mistake.
Watanabe is also an intriguing player at the minimum. |

As long as we can add them to the core contributors from last season I like it. If it causes us to lose either of these then no: Dlo/Schro/AR/Vandi/Rui.
Dlo/Schro/Rubio
AR
LBJ/Vandi
AD/Rui
Jarrett Allen
Not bad if MaxC and TBjr come back to help at SG with Gabe at PF/C and TT at C. _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. I didn’t see that this off season.” |

Have to think given Vogels preference in having a big man, that the franchise is hoping he can turn around Ayton. _________________ Darvin |

Uh oh…
Dan Woike
@DanWoikeSports
Phil Handy, development coach/assistant Jon Pastorek and video coordinator Dru Anthrop all were retained after Vogel’s dismissal and are obviously names to watch as Vogel assembles his staff _________________ Darvin |

if they are counting on Ayton transforming himself then they will bring in the same team because nobody is trading for CP0 and his 30m contract |

If Vogel cant get Ayton right then nobody can. He made Roy Hibbert look like a DPOY caliber big.
Rooting for him to do well. |
