I don't think Bamba is the worse player and is also a stretch big fit with our roster

Do you think we will still resign Bamba after this move?

Not a fan of his body type.

He doesn't seem to have any low post moves nor a nice touch around the rim.

Haven't shown to be a good rebounder, he is athletic, and capable of blocking shot, but haven't shown to be a good defender.

It seems he is nothing more than a bench player.

Well Ham certainly hated him, we know THAT for sure.

Jaxon is an upgrade over Bamba for sure. And even younger too, so he has a chance to improve with his great size and athletic ability.

Unfortunately for Bamba, he only SOUNDS good on paper. But his lack of motor and effort will make him out of the league in a year or two.

A mobile and athletic center that can switch onto all 5 positions. An excellent signing.

He'll thrive on the Lakers. Pels can't develop talent for (bleep).

We've got Phil Handy.

He just has to work on his attitude. The LA life is not for him, so someone has to keep him in check.

Jaxon has better size, strength, energy, athletic ability, and chance for growth.

Bamba’s lack of effort made him a liability on both ends, which was probably why Ham never even tried to play him meaningful minutes even when he was healthy.

Jaxon could be our 2020 JaVale McGee.

Never been much of a fan of Hayes but he plays with way more effort than Bamba on both ends.

Ham was also an athletic energy guy so maybe he can mold Hayes into something.

Well, he'll be available for one.

I anticipate he'll start out with 10-15 min a game as AD's back up or maybe even play with AD during stretches.

Yes, his ability to rotate and hedge well vs pnr is a boost for the team. Even if he is limited to rim running on offense, his defensive versatility should help Ham keep him on the court.

Ya Javale is the best comp. If he bulks up a bit he can have a similar impact. A 24/7 lob threat, can run the floor, get up for blocks, switch on smaller defenders, etc.

Rob's doing work with these low risk, high reward moves. Almost like he's getting those draft picks they gave up back for nothing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they sign one more center. Could be Mo if he's willing to take vet min. Or could be Castleton, TT, Wenyen, etc.

If Jaxson was a proven starting caliber NBA Center he would be out of our price range.

Hayes is compared more to a J. Allen type then McGee.

McGee is surprisingly stout at 260lbs considering how active and springy he plays. Hayes is 6’11 with a 7’4 wingspan. But plays with that same type of activity. Sometimes to his own detriment in some situations. Foul prone.

But overall I like the addition. Decent size, good mobility, defensive awareness, ability to rim run and finish lobs. What is not to like in a young player.

Another high upside player. If coaches can get him to live up to his potential the Lakers may have something. Hopefully he can earn 15-20 mpg.

Not the starter I was hoping for but a nice rotation big. Finally!

Well he beats women and also sucks. But is also probably the best backup C we could get with the minimum. I hope Castleton turns out to be serviceable because I don't particularly want to root for this dude.

I think he will play the McGee role just fine.

McGee can’t switch on smalls like Haynes, so I think Ham will like him a lot. We have a big, mobile and athletic front line.

I had forgotten about his DV issues.

Crap! Just when I was excited about the signing a cold dose of reality of character issues. I agree, makes it hard to root for the young man as much as 10 mins ago.

Oh man what? I had no idea.

Well, Rob was also interested in possibly trying to sign Miles Bridges, so I guess woman beaters aren’t out of the question for us lol.

We also had Jason Kidd as an assistant coach here…uhh…very uncomfortable pattern.

Curious if we can depend on Hayes to man the paint then have huge wings roaming around with AD-Bron-Rui-Reaves, at times
