One of the best college coaches of all time. His temper was Kīlauea-esque. He tossed chairs across the floor, put his hands on players, ranted like a wounded bear. He'll be missed by the college coach fraternity. RIP

The last of the great yelling and screaming all the time coaches.
It might work but has been going out of fashion for awhile now.
His record is impressive for sure and he was Coach K's major coaching mentor.
Complicated legacy, RIP Bobby.

The yokel culture of Indiana protected him even back then. French Lickers. I was born in a small tahwwwn....and I leeeeive in a small tahwn. He couldn't have pulled that sh (literally) at Duke, say.
But motivating your players with an asswipe is pretty inventive. You use what you got.

You know that a certain segment of the population loved it because he put people in their place. That BS wouldn't work today. |
