If this is balling out, we need better

He is 6-10 from the FG, 3/6 from the 3 with 16 points and +7, getting paid 4.5 mil, what should we expect?

He played well but his leash is insane.

To be fair, he's our only good spot-up 3-point shooter and floor spacer, and we're in desperate need of 3-point shooting and floor spacing.

The way we play defense when we actually show up, maybe we can get away with playing Prince 30+ minutes when he's shooting well, even though his defense is mid.

Rui is a good spot up 3 pt shooters too

He is, but he doesn't shoot as many of them. It also seems he mainly uses the threat of the 3-point shot to get to his favorite spots closer to the basket.

I think Prince is good for us but I think both Vando and Rui is simply better than him overall

Agreed. But Prince does need significant playing time whenever he's shooting well.

Not over Rui or Vando tho, I mean we 0.500 and we haven’t even got a chance to see Rui’s ceiling and there’s only 20 something games left

He played well but his leash is insane.

His minutes probably came from wood and Hayes today. Ham putting him on the bench is already a good start, but Rui clearly can’t stay with quicker guys
We either start max/reddish/prince. Rui not only can’t cover for DLo/AR, he needs them to cover for him.

That’s nice and all but his leash still too long.

He’s been a guaranteed 30 minute + player every game.
He just happened to play well today.

He wasn’t even that much better on defense than Rui today.
We only stopped Brunson once we started doubling and he was tired from playing so many minutes.

I get it you wanna defend Prince.

I’m not saying he shouldn’t play at all. But he’s being treated like a star by Ham.

Once again it’s one of the biggest flaws on this team when your starting backcourt can’t guard opposing guards. It really put other players in a tough spot having to guard outside their position that they are not used to. Lakers have so much ground to cover defensively. Also reason why this team are so inconsistent defensively.

2020 Lakers were so good defensively because Caruso/KCP/Bradley were able to guard and hound opposing guards allowing AD/Bron to cover less ground defensively.
