Quote: | The Los Angeles Lakers are among the front runners to sign guard Spencer Dinwiddie when he clears waivers, sources tell ESPN. The 30-year-old L.A. native averaged 12.6 points and 6.0 assists for BKN this season.

Good. As long as Ham plays him in a 6th man role and doesn't try to give him 30 minutes a game as a starter or 6th man, there won't be any problems. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

He's not a bad player at all. I am ok with him. |

His 2 seasons with Brooklyn I would say he was a bad player. Lets hope the change of scenery helps him. He was good for the Mavs before his latest Nets stint.
I also wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to go back to the Mavs since he had his most efficient years there. We will see what he chooses. |

Get him.
Question, Is he better than Max? Like is he gonna be ahead of Max? And can he play Cam’s minute too/tall lengky enough? _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

Looking at his bbref page and he was in the top 20 for MIP for 3 straight years. He's an interesting player to have on your bench, for sure. Getting him on a buyout seems like a nice acquisition |

The only player he’s gonna get ahead of in the rotation is Gabe Vincent, we are gonna need Cam’s defense in the playoffs, assuming Vando returns in a month he’s another that is gonna be needed in the playoffs, I’m interested to see how Max does in the playoffs… so good chance Vincent won’t be healthy this year again, so Spencer Dinwiddie over having no one but the street clothes of Vincent is a major Improvement

If Ham utilize him as a microwave off the bench for 15 minutes and not play him on a 3 guard lineup, he’s a good pickup. Low risk, medium reward. |

We need a guard with Gabe out until March. If DLO or LeBron get injured it's gg to running an offense. But it's such an uninspiring move |

I've seen Spencer play and he's a 6`5" PG that does a little bit of everything. He is obviously not a great player but a very useful one. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

But is he a 6'5" Kemba Walker? |

Spencer is a 6'5 point guard that is a 12-13 ppg guy who will get you high assits and low turnovers off the bench while being a good enough offensive player to keep the defense honest as a 6th man.
Getting that in the buyout market without giving up a single asset is solid. Especially when Gabe Vincent likely isn't going to anything significant for the Lakers for the rest of the season as I am expecting once he's re-evaluated he's going to need several practices and rehab to get in NBA shape and then around the extra 3rd week of waiting on him for him to be shut down for the rest of the season.
Dinwiddie is a VERY good investment as it would have been a horrible idea to depend on Gabe at this point. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Always been a fan of Dinwiddie. He and the Nets were doing pretty good before they built their superteam and he started getting shafted to a different team almost every year. Would love for the Lakers to pick him up |

Agreed. Dinwiddie is that type of confident dawg who could even fill in for D'Lo if D'Lo struggles with playoff physicality. |

Dinwiddie has good downhill ability. We lost a lot of that with Dennis' departure. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Ideally both but we just need either him or D'Lo to catch fire vs Denver. |

Yeah, imagine people complaining about getting a 13 ppg high assist low turnover backup point guard for absolutely no assets during a season when our backup pg we were supposed to have is likely going to miss the year. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Up to 5.4m, 2.5m if they wanna stay under tax because they didn't spend their tpMLE. Lakers can only offer 1.6 vs everyone else's 1m.
He's also sitting by the Mavs bench at the Knicks game right now. |

I thought he would lean Mavs with the familiarity but you add the money…
