The lefties both had a smoothness and level of cool to their game but their personalities end there. D'Lo seems much more analytical and intellectually sharp. Van Exel had a harder edginess and temperamental ferocity in him.
In their games, both had good ball-handling and were prone to go on heat-seeking missile heaters. Both also didnt excel on defense. Of course the footspeed is a key difference. D'Lo is slo-mo whereas Van Exel was literally called Nick the Quick. And I gotta say this as a difference too, D'Lo is the overall better player but there is almost nobody past or present I would want taking a clutch shot over Van Exel. From his generation, probably Jordan (if that) and thats it. Van Exel took and made more shots that I was sure he was going to miss and make them more than anyone else I have seen to this date - thats an incredible uncanny talent to have because most players (even the greats) usually make them when they are in rhythm and miss when they arent. I got more WTF to oh (bleep) he made it???!!!! reactions from him more than anybody else.
Why was he out yesterday? _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

Dude is clutch. Thinking back on this game, as well as I can recall through the delirium of the ups and downs of this one, he only made a couple mistakes down the stretch.
One was a pass to AD who had hit 3 3's already instead of taking the shot himself, which we can only say because AD missed it, and an errant pass he made in one of the overtimes.
He came up with a big block down the stretch on Portis who had a surefire putback layup. His free throws were enormous, one of which he had to draw himself against a tough bigger defender.
For all those people who’ve been talking ish about the Lakers guards all season, saying they ain’t athletic enough and can’t defend and we should trade one or both of them, how you like them now? The Laker twosome tonight, 58 pts, 21 rebounds and 22 assists. The Bucks backcourt, including superstar Damian Lillard, 48, 8, and 9. Put some respect on their names.
Does anyone know what happened on the Dlo play at the end of the 4th where the Bucks challenged the ball being out on them and possession to the Lakers and were successful?
I was watching the game but with no sound. What it seemed like is the ball was out on Dlo but Beasley fouled him.
I don't know the rules, but I taught a ref isn't allowed to review a play where no foul was called..but if he/she happens to be reviewing another play and happens to see a foul, the ref is allowed to call the foul?
DLO is playing the best basketball of his career right now imo.
I’d take it a step further and say he’s had a better season than Dame _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“
Still got a little bit ball dominant at the end of the game last night.. and had a crucial turnover.
Hopefully he takes a less is more approach, especially in crunch time. He’s not Kobe. He needs to move the ball and not go iso. Once he figures that part out his game will go up even another level IMO.

Seems Dlo gets less credit for good and more criticism for bad than any other Laker I’ve ever seen. Still, can’t ignore what you’re saying. Dlo has seemed to make plays to get the team back in the game, make a bad mistake to put the game in jeopardy, then make a redemptive play to help seal the win, (GSW 2OT win, 1st win vs Bucks, last night for 2nd win vs Bucks).
Ironically it tracks with how he started. I remember the summer league game where he won it with the game winner. Afterwards in the interview he remarked that he gave up the go-ahead score so he had to make up for it with the game winning bucket. I’ve like him ever since due to that awareness of accountability. That game winner was the origin of “Ice Water in my Veins” _________________ “When it looks as if it is a realistic possibility, I want to focus on winning a ship like it’s a goal that can’t be denied. Sounds like what lebron should do as well in crunch time lol

Dame increasingly seems to me like a sort of guy who is the best player on a mediocre team, but not a true #1 or even #2 guy on a contender. Low efficiency on offense (42.5% this year) and bad defense. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
