They should just make it legal for players to bet, but they can only bet on their own team to win… no point spread bets.

I don’t have any question that there is some funny business going on when it comes to spreads, overs, props, etc. Just hearing the stories of lesser guys claiming they had been approached by people makes it very likely that other people who need the money or are more easily coerced are taking some orders. Simple stuff like taking the meaningless shot at the end of the game vs dribbling the clock out could result in huge swings that a player could receive a commission for.
I feel that the actual team wins and losses are not impacted much but I wouldn’t be totally surprised if there are some exceptions.
