Rui needs to grab some rebounds.
He had 0 last night and how big Rui is, that should never be.
That means he is giving absolutely no effort in that area.
Must have heard yah. 20 point 10 rebound game. We know he has it in him.
He has had a couple of good rebound games latelymixed in with some stinkers. Rebounding takes a great deal of effort, he needs to bring that consistently. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Has Rui surpassed Kuzma yet?
IMO it isn’t close— much better than either Lakers Kuzma or Wizards Kuzma. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

But some people said Kuzma was better than BI and Tatum.
LOL
The real question is if Kuzma is even better than Josh Hart.
Kuzma is more talented but Hart is more of a winning player. I guess sort of how you'd compare Lavine to Caruso - per se.
Then again, he's in Washington. Nothing related to playing winning basketball happens there so I don't doubt Kuz could play a more winning game elsewhere.
Either way, I like (this version of) Rui over both of them

Rui is pretty much exactly what everyone expected Kuz to be as a 3rd star next to Bron and AD. If you watch him in DC he's a skilled player but he couldn't quite figure out how to contribute next to the big 2 until he went the role player route. Ironically Kuz was the better defender, passer and rebounder as a Laker. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."
The only thing I really want Rui to focus on is putting in defensive effort even when he's beat a step off the dribble. I've seen him recover in worse situations and block the shot or make a defensive play on the ball before, so I know he can. So watching him not engaged defensively or at times with rebounding is always frustrating because he CAN be.
His offensive confidence helps against that, but if he added consistent defensive effort to his game, that'd be even greater. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Why didn't the Wizards want to invest in him? He's lower cost, and younger than Kuzma. Would any of you deal him straight up for Kuzma right now?
tbf his jumpshot had a low trajectory that made it difficult for him to extend to the three point line, something I’m personally amazed the Lakers coached up. He was also essentially a big that didn’t rebound (or box out), something the Lakers are still trying to coach up. He was definitely less dimensional than Kuzma when they were on the team together.

I said right after the AD trade how comical it was for Pelinka to pat himself on the back for keeping the worst asset of the bunch we gave away.
It was a matter of matching salaries. There was no way to avoid throwing Zo and Ingram in the trade. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."
It's crazy Ham had Him, AR, AND DLo coming off the bench at different times & all 3 at the same time at one point lol
In favor of Cam (bleep) Reddish and Taurean Prince. Prince has been fine, good even, but he shouldn't have been getting big minutes. Cam barely justified being played at all.

TP role should've always been what it is now, and as far as Cam, it was a nice feel good story at the start of the season that Ham dragged on for too long.

Ham saw Cam once score 22 in a playoff game and thought he had Paul George on his hands.
That stupidity - which includes playing Prince 30+ mins - cost us a 4th/5th seed... if not higher.

I'd argue no, and I love Kuz - but Josh has a better BB IQ on both sides and is the type you add into a championship team as a key role player who plays to his strengths.

Kuzma isn't very good. He shoots high volume on a super crappy team with awful chucker teammate, Poole.
Put Kuzma on a real team where the ball gets passed around, he would average 15 points a game versus 22.
Never understood the Kuzma hype. Sure, he had some good games here and there but he also had terrible anemic games as well that defined his game.
Josh Hart gives you defense, rebounds and assists even with being undersized.
I would take Hart over Kuzma in a heartbeat.
